I would definitely add Ominous Seas to this list. It's a 2 drop enchantment with: "Whenever you draw a card, put a foreshadow counter on Ominous Seas. Remove eight foreshadow counters from Ominous Seas: Create an 8/8 blue Kraken creature token. Cycling 2" So every 8 draws you get a free 8/8 kraken token. I run this in every blue deck I build.

That can be very powerful!

@@PubStompMTG Absolutely. Even if you're running a spellslinging deck or such, getting a free 8/8 blocker on the board is a gamechanger. I ran it with Niv-Mizzet Parun and got 2 krakens out in one turn. Fun times.

My favorite EDh deck is a simic deck with Kiora as commander. previously it was imoti , which allows you to cascade into a bunch of stuff. that being said i dislike kennosses as a SC- commander . with the reasons that you have to invest a bunch of cards to manipulate your deck in order to consistently cheat out stuff. aka. you have to cut out quite a few sea creatures for generic scry effect cards. which in my opinion is the biggest crime for a sea creature deck.
@laurenpetlock79247 ай бұрын
Just throwing my 2 cents in. Tbh o feel like animar is one of the strongest commanders for sea monsters. Dump a ton of them out for super cheap, and scales very well with up the beanstalk and similar effects
@Oz__MTG2 ай бұрын
I run a ton of sea creatures in my main simic deck, most of these are in there besides the last card you mentioned. Which is insanely good to know because I built it all from my bulk and it works massively well! 🙂 Gonna add some of those extras to help keep the synergy going tho. So far I’ve got plenty of sea creatures, a few Dino’s and 2 Eldrazi. The deck is super scary! 😂

Runo Stromkirk is definitely my goto Sea Creature deck. His ability to create tokens them once he flips & even make doubles up on them is just amazing. Just make sure you have a Mirrorbox or Mirror Gallery out so that you can clone those legendary monsters.

Been wanting to build a Sea Monsters tribal deck for a while now. Going to use Kiora, Sovereign of the Deep in combination with Descendants Path. I just love cheating out big monsters, along with my Pantlaza Dinos and Mirrym Dragons.

Jalira is also a good commander. She can destroy tokens to pull out non-legendary sea monsters. Junk Winder is amazing in a Jalira sea monster deck.

Came across this on my feed, and had always been interested in making a sea creatures deck. I love the style of giving multiple commander options and general idea/good includes for the deck. Would be cool to also expand into different areas besides just creature types (artifact, mill, equipment, planeswalkers, etc), if you haven't. Haven't watched other videos yet, so not sure if you are already doing this, but maybe add a dedicated "ways to win" section? For Sea Monsters, it's pretty obvious (big creatures - smash face), but with some other deck types, like planeswalkers, I have no idea how to win this that.

Yeah, I am aware, but the MTG universe shows Nezahal as a Dinosaur. Same thing for Pteranodons. They ain't dinos either but MTG gave them the Dinosaur typing grouping them together
