This really depends on the battery capacity and your usage. Battery capacity can be measured by Ah (Amp Hours) or kWh (Kilo Watt Hours). If you look at the numbers compared to stock, you can do some math and determine your theoretical range based on your usage.

Would that battery work well with the 5000watt 100A motor from e-street bike???
@RunPlayBack2 жыл бұрын
Which battery are you referring to exactly? In general, you want your battery to be "overengineered" for the peak AMP draw of your controller, so that your battery is never stressed to its limits. For the 5kw 100A kit, I would go with a battery that can discharge up to 200A or up to 150A . I don't think most people end up doing mods like this until either 6 months or a year of owning the bike in stock form. Most modders in this space are usually learning as they go and figuring how much they are willing to replace as opposed to having a full modding plan and starting from scratch.

@@NinjasOfOrca yup like for context, my friend was sourcing all these parts for a few months while owning the bike for over a year I believe. In the vid it may seem like she bought the bike and we just gutted it. But it took a long time.

@@RunPlayBack gotcha, and it's not the kind of upgrade you can make one thing at a time, since everything needs a higher voltage

@@NinjasOfOrca on this bike yeah...and its usually more cost effective to get everything as a kit. Some people also sell the stock parts that have been replaced to recoup a little money back from the modded parts.

Its so ugly but the specs are amazing

That's why there are so many different brand/models to choose from in this category! Which bikes do you like?

I have bought motorcycles for less money than this build.

@@RunPlayBack No, I want to understand what the point of this is. It's no longer legal at this speed limit without registering it and a license, and at that point, you might as well just pull the trigger on the motorcycle if the entire point is "speed".

@@StoryoftheYear16 Heya I'm the bike's owner, a.k.a the dork at the end there. Wanted to chime in b/c I see this sentiment a lot when folks mod their ebikes. A) The "point" was to feel comfortable commuting on my ebike in traffic situations at stock speeds. I already own a small displacement motorcycle and am used to being able to keep up with traffic on it, so that informed a lot of this conversion decision. I understand being limited to sidewalk legal speeds is fine for a majority of ebike riders, but it's not for my riding style and personal preference. B) This build was always going to be registered as a moped, I never had a problem with that. C) People often bring up costs when it comes to ebikes, but I feel like cost is real subjective when it comes to ebikes that are going to be modded. Anyway for reference, my approx rounded costs: Stock 48v X-Class: $1,599 Estreetbike 3KW kit (motor, battery, Sabvoton controller and DC converter kit): $2,510 Shinko SR241 tires, Magura eSTOP Brakes, front turn signals: $300 Totals (not including mirrors, bags, other crap I got after the fact): $4409 I could have bought some used generic motorcycle with 4 grand sure. But c'mon that's boring! ;D D) Right now I have a gas bike and an electric bike in my yard. They serve different riding purposes, but they get me where I’m going comfortably, safely, and in a fun way. End of the day, it's my ride and I've been having a blast riding it and learning how to mod it. I thought that was fundamentally the main point of riding--to have some fun?
