@@kayboy6055 to me drag race doesn’t have the same mainstream audience appeal. Drag is getting recognized for sure but the show format doesn’t have the same mechanics that make it successful like a BB or the others you mentioned. Look at Ru, his success is prominently through drag race. All his other media ventures have been canceled. I personally think we have maybe 5-10 years before even the mainstream audience gets tired, vs BB 21 years

Victoria is not ground breaking - the UK is very much like Australia when it comes to most things. We have camp female comics in our UK TV history, Hilda Baker, Mrs Slocombe from Are you being served ? , Hyacinth Buckets fron Keeping Up Appearnces and Patsy Stone from ABFAB and Kathy Burke from Gimme Gimme Gime.. So my reception to Victoria is lukewarm - not because I think she should not be there . I just think she was an easy option given that the UK loves camp white women and pantomime. People like her dont struggle to get shows or TV series as they are beloved and celebrated. I would have been more impressed by an Indian Drag Queen which I have yet to see on UK drag race. The UK is poor when it comes to race and will lump everyone who is not a straight white male into a pot as being disadvantaged. They pick out one person who will usually be a white female and then they will witter on about how great they are. I am not dininisshing Victoria's talents but UK TV is so full of Camp female celebs - such a Katie Price . Kim Woodburn and all the Essex and Chelsea reality TV stars she does not excite me as she would have probably been able to get a TV show on her own steam in the UK anyway. I love Hilda Baker, Patsy Stone, Mrs Slocombe and Hyacinth Bucket - to me they are all drag queens. So not sure why at this moment in time a bilogical white female needs Rupaul's Drag Race as a platform as people like her are always loved by TV production and they tend to find it y easy getting a platform. All I can think is they have a TV show in mind for her and they are testing the water. I think anyone can do drag and the women I mentioned do it well but in the UK it is relatively easy for them to get a platform and TV executives frothing at the mouth. No doubt she will be good but camp white female actress in the UK does not really need drag race at all. I am not surprised she is there as this is the UK strategy for everything to avoid too many POCS going to places they are not supposed to= TV just happens to be one of those places

For all the people in the comments saying that “Veronica Scones shouldn’t compete because she’s a bio queen.” So what’s your opinion on Kylie, Gia Gunn, Jiggly, and Peppermint on the show? 🤔 So do you think that Kylie shouldn’t be in the show? So Trans women can compete in the show but biological women can’t? If you agree, then you need to come to terms with the fact that you don’t think that trans women are fully women so that’s why they can compete. Trans women are WOMEN.

but drag race isn’t a runway only show there’s challenges that require you to be funny, engaging, and entertaining being a woman may mean that she takes a little less time getting into drag but it definitely doesn’t give her all of those qualities at default 🧍🏾♀️🧍🏾♀️ and she’s still getting into drag not some soft glam or some youtube makeup tutorial it’s still extravagant

See had it just been the transformation, drag race wouldn't be where it is today. There's performance, personality and genuine talent required for this show. Based on that logic shouldn't individuals who've had surgeries or augmentations done to their body not participate too? It's the talent that counts
