It's really interesting to me that the fashion/glamour girls don't wear boobs, pads or cinch now but the club kid/alternative queens do. Like it works for certain looks but if you're a man with no surgery and you just put on a dress with no shape alterations, most of the time, you're gonna look like a boxy man in a dress. Wish the lack of shape was more intentional.

It's like they saw Aquaria do it and think it works for every look and body type now and it really doesn't.

@@Jays6926 There are rules to an extent, it's like music, there are objective rules that define music. Like I think the whole point of drag is creating an illusion, you're becoming a character and when you lip sync, the goal is to give the illusion that you are the one singing. That's why it works for club kids, because the lack of shaping is part of the look, but most of the queens doing this now are trying to look like women, they describe the looks as being female fashion models, etc, but that illusion cannot be achieved without cinching and padding for most men, Aquaria works sometimes because she just happens to have the right proportions for that look, same with Naomi, but it shouldn't be every look like it is becoming. The illusion is broken, it's like Lemon with that grey gown, the dress was pretty but the lack of breasts completely break it because of the cut of the gown, not padding should be intentional for the look, not just a thing you do because you think you can pull it off IMO.

I have been a huge drag fan for 10ish years but dont get to see many local shows because there isn't a whole lot in western canada where I live. I live 45 minutes away from victoria where jimbo lives and seeing her succeed and be so likeable, unique and all the fans loving her makes me so happy and proud it brings a tear to my eye. I cant wait to go see her when covid is over. Vancouver island is so damn proud of you Jimbo.
