It was close, because while Sasha had the resume, Anetra had the fan support behind her. It would've been extremely anticlimactic (which it already kinda is) if they went into the top 2 being like "ok we're about to lipsync for no reason because we know Sasha's gonna win".

​ @Arvin Gutierrez Well, she was the most likable winner to me considering her drag pedigree. Many of the veteran queens come to the show expecting a certain "deference." They are not nice to the younger queens, they always remind them of how long they have been in the game, how many pageants or crowns they have, or who they have worked with. No other mother queen has been as gracious as Sasha. She kept up with the youngun's, made no excuses about her performances, brought something new and exciting to the challenges, and was kind to EVERYONE. Even Raja, although likable, and a drag queen veteran was not always kind during her run on drag race. The younger aged, winner queens had not been in the game as long as Sasha when they won. Sure, there are VERY likable and truly sweet winners. Willow Pill, Sasha Velour, Jinkx, Symone, and Jaida are the queens who come to my mind who were relatively drama free in their seasons. They may have been caught up in some drama, but they never brought it. Everyone is entitled to their favorites.

I think the reason why nobody is mad at Sasha winning is because she worked for it. She didn't just show up and have everything handed to her on a silver platter, she slayed challenges all season long, she never missed on the runway, she had memorable moments on the season, and in the finale she ATE her solo number and gave 100% the fantasy in that final lipsync. And on top of that, she represents the LGBTQ+ community so well, and I'm so excited to have a trans woman of colour as our reignin queen. It's just correct.

Anetra is the queen, like Valentina and others, who have attracted many heteros and the toxic part of the fanbase this season. Don't get me wrong, she has MANY great fans as well, but they are being horrible and transphobic toward Sasha, mainly because they prefer a winner that is more cis-presenting, "cute out of drag" (according to their taste) over someone as visibly trans and queer like Sasha. I'm not the biggest fan of Luxx and at times I have been a hater - not actual toxic hate, just giving constructive criticism, serving "You know I think analyzing the lineup we have here tonight..." - but with that said, I am living for her being such a die-hard fan of the show and being smart enough to reference these funny iconic moments. She's so young and has made a few 'choices' but I genuinely look forward to her growth and her Rudemption arc on an all-stars season 😊

I don´t think we´ve ever had a top 2 this close on a flagship season since season 3. Both Sasha and Anetra are both amazing stars. I can´t wait to see what Anetra does in the future. She might not have left with a crown but for me, she was the true breakout of this season. Incredibly talented, beautiful, and kind-hearted

as a straight man and big fan of the show this was my favourite season. The finale had more than i asked for: my favourite queen Jinx Monsoon singing, a fantastic lip sync from Sasha and Anetra and i was able to witness Sasha "the Goddess" Colby being crowned by a fantastic queen like Willow (which was my favourite during her season). After the end i felt like everything was in place and i was at peace.
