1970’s and 2010’s were much better economically speaking. 1990’s were the best musically speaking. The 1980’s? The decade of CHEESINESS LOL.

I fell in love with this movie when I was 9 years old. I had a huge crush on Monique from the movie. In high school at 16, I found my own Monique. She even resembled the actress from the movie, and wore my LA dodgers cap. 25 years later, through good times and bad, I am still arrested by her. I hope, pray and wish for 25 more years. Without her, I'd be better off dead.

Better Off Dead is one of my all-time favorite movies from the 1980s. Great music, and so many great lines from this film: "I want my two dollars!" "Would you mind if *I* asked out Beth?" "Lane Meyer... a study in moppishness." "Language lessons!" "I'm gonna activate your dental plan!" "Now that's a real shame when folks be throwin' away a perfectly good white boy like that."
