He was a pioneer in modern electronic pop music. Way ahead of mainstream. The late Jeanettes' lyrics are superb! I'm not religous at all, but g bless her soul.

Yes very sad indeed. I bought the first album as soon as it came out, such were the glowing reviews. I never stopped being a huge admirer of his vast, vast talents. We lost a legend who was never known enough.

@@zappzapp1350Hello zappzapp, it is a very special moment to meet another Rupert Hine superfan and admirer of his work. He is just incredible. I will be 64yrs old next year and it was his first (i think) album Immunity that i heard music journalists were raving about. It was unlike anything i had ever heard and i was a real fan of David Bowie since 1972, and Rupert's music was so different. I liked the 2nd album also, and then came this one, the 3rd album. It is my favourite i think. Just so many songs to love on here, close to every song. I worked in a big record company W.E.A, in the early 80s for 2years,it was amazing. I was very lucky to meet the vocalist/songwriter from a band that Rupert was their producer, The Fixx, who were on our record label. Their first 3 albums were excellent, much thanks to Rupert, especially Reach The Beach, it is regarded as an excellent rock album of the 80s. I met Cy Curnin and spoke with him for just about 2 mins, but the setting was very special, maybe i can tell you where next time. Anyhow, deep down i would of loved to meet Rupert, but it never happened. So great to hear from you and read your lovely thoughts about his music. There is so much that Rupert achieved and influenced music overall and he held some important positions in the industry and worked with many artists. Teach the younger ones, you said, that is so true, we must do that. Thankyou, best wishes to you.

His magnum opus to me. The title track is epic, such a range of emotions and moods, lyrically and musically. And the most dangerous of men, apart from being quite topical once again, is spine shivering with that amazing Palmer/Hine chant. Many other highlights on this gem.

OH I KNOW, RIGHT? it's like, the hine-meister's a true visionary, and anyone would be lucky to have rupert produce them, for instance, and all those layered vocals, and just multi-tracks, just outta sight! few , if any, have a better sense of what sounds cool, synth-wise, drum-wise, guitar-wise, vocally and other-wise!

Excelentes canciones. . Qué gran músico fue Rupert Hine ( Q.E.P.D. ). Un tremendo compositor y productor inglés. Para mí , su trilogía : " Immunity " ( 1981 ) " Waving not drowning " ( 1982 ) " The wildest wish to fly " ( 1983 ) , sus mejores álbumes. Saludos desde Chile.

@@tinfoilhatterYes they are such beautiful, tragic lyrics. She was a very special lyricist. All these years, i must find time to look back at her wonderful work. Its just that i spend little time on the internet for certain reasons. When i do, its mainly to use the valuable time to listen to my most loved music from the mid-late 60s through the 70s and early 80s.. Such a lot of music to try to find the time. I do love your comments here thanks.

This is actually a gathering of songs from other albums too. Ive loved him for decades. Actually this is sped up a bit and if slowed to normal you will find the songs even greater. For example, on Picturephone with Robert Palmer joining vocals its noticably higher in pitch and speed compared to my record albums and cds

this is only the later american version of wildest wish to fly. and it is not complete. the video rat is missing. I never understood why they made this record like this even including 'I hang on to my vertigo' from the Immunity album which does not belong to TWWTF at all. Sorry for all the crticism, but why upload an old really bad cassette rip of something that is available as CD ? the quality is appaling ... get the LP shown in the picture, that's the original version of TWWTF
