There is a good reason so many people cried last February when Rupert Neve died, still working at 94 years young bright as ever. In fact brilliant, and one of a kind. RIP, hope you are having a great time out in the universe or where ever you went. Where ever it is, I know it will sound much better very soon! OH, and thanks for training those young people at Rupert Neve Designs, keeping some of you around for a few more generations seems pretty smart to me.

I am so honored to own this gorgeous piece of kit - it's an homage to all that Rupert gave the world in his beautiful designs. I certainly don't do it justice, but it feels great to have invested in this wonderful company.

The Shelford Channel is one of the greatest channel strips in the world. Once you hear it on your music, you will never want to use any other channel strip but the Shelford again.

I bought one as the one high quality piece for my home studio... this thing allowed me to record out amazing tracks... each one mono- with different flavors in... then mixed down (through) while learning the basics.. simply breathtaking how pristine yet exclusively signatured this channel strip is. It can be squeaky clean, or violently warm- all in a way that makes tracks sound pro. Thank you for changing my world, Rupert Neve. @kalaniandthekompany on soundcloud :)

Hi MC, so, you use the Shelford for tracking? I thought it was for mastering only. What other pieces of gear do you use along with the Shelford?

@@miltonmagik It works flawlessly in any stage of the recording process.. It is utterly amazing for tracking and also wonderful for mixing/mastering too - it would be nice to have two for a stereo signal though, for mixing and mastering, but a single one (for the solo home recordist) is brilliant for tracking.

Thanks Kenneth, we've seen great engineers prefer one over the other, but the Shelford is absolutely a great choice, and from what we've seen it tends to be the first choice for most engineers.

We think so, shelford channel in our opinion encapsulates the best of the classic designs just with more versatility. Those classics are much loved on vocals from ranging from rock to jazz to hip hop, so it is a pretty safe bet.
