This is a fantastic discussion. I came across it by accident and am so glad I did❤. I was raised Catholic. Went to Catholic grade school, high school and college. By the time I graduated from college, I had left the church. However I became much more spiritual. I have learned through my own experiences that attachment, especially to things, is hell. It separated me from God. I also believe that "Purgatory" is reincarnation. We continue to reincarnate, to keep learning and growing. I believe that we are working our way back to remembering that we are all one with all that is. We are all apart of God/Higher Power. We are re-membering that we are a part of the body of God ❤

However , the Spark that is consciousness is the question ......Will we be aware after passing out and beyond our 'meat overcoat'. Those including myself ,who have experienced any sort of NDE will vouchsafe that there is a consciousness beyond ...and it is extremely vibrant and gorgeous, a Bliss. 😂99.9% of the Universe is non physical, a plasma state, perhaps that is the next ' Light ' on our soul /consciousness journey 💛🌟💛,the pilgrimage we have journeyed and the Earth Energies we have encountered having enriched us

Enjoyed this conversation very much. I find it difficult to think of life as "a gift," though. A gift compared to what? Death? Non-existence? If you did not exist, you would not have consciousness to know it. I find the idea of gratefulness to be alive a difficult concept. It makes sense to me only if you are already alive and have escaped an early death so you can continue to raise your children or something. Other than something like that I find the concept difficult to understand.

Death is the subject we all need to be talking abut more instead of avoiding. Living a life all the way through will always end in death one way or another, so to embrace life is to embrace the certainty of our eventual death, and the fear of death is actually the fear of being alive. We aren't unchanging inanimate objects, we are constantly changing mortal living organisms.

I'm not religious, but I am not an atheist. I dont believe in god, I believe in the cosmos. I have always looked at the Resurrection as an opportunity to contemplate death, on a level so that once understood that this is your only life, to enjoy life to the end. No matter how dark or evil it may seem. From it I understood death, darkness, evil, or good are simply shades of the same thing. ALL is good. So the Resurrection is a choice, not everyone will fully understand or partake in. The freemasons do the same thing. The first 3 degrees are the teaching of death and a resurrection.

the resurrection rebirth is here now in the body - i.e. no need to drop the body - it's a Shift in Consciousness! It's all a play of Consciousness - 'dying living' all one thread of consciousness and LOVE is the place where all unites... only 2 realities i find are Pure Love and Nature... the cross is made up of the Horizontal Plane i.e. the life of a human/ the consciousness of a human who is counting numbers believing THIS life 0 - e.g. 80 is All there is (!) 'cradle to grave') and the the Vertical Plane ie the SHIFT in consciousness, the real-eyes realisation that the Heart is a portal to eternity timeless-time Pure Love; that ''nothing comes and nothing goes' hence the symbolism common of the circle 0: the place beyond 'experiencing' a space/ place of Pure Love... there IS a 'dropping of the body' there IS NO Death i.e. the Rebirth into the Light - AWAKENING to the eternity of Pure Love - can happen BEFORE we 'drop the body' 'drop the human form'... there is TOO a sacred physiological transmission encoded in a mystic reading of the Bible which testifies to this process of 'raising he christ oil/ chrism' the cerebral spinal fluid which opens the 'pineal' the 'third eye' the 'lamp' this is the physiological ANOINTING and REBIRTH... 'dying death' exists as a biological phenomena of 'dropping a body' like 'taking off a shoe' (Ram Dass) one another level level of Absolute Truth 'death' doesn't exist it's a part of the Maya/ illusion it's the Cosmic Joke! In one human lifetime we also experience moments of 'the valley of death" (it's a 'fallen' / 'fallen' out of pure love consciousness') and moments of Heaven/ Eden (these are the moments when we enter into and dissolve in the Here-Now and Pure Love)... many of us 'in physical bodies' have already died to matter and are reborn 'in spirit' - in other words it's simply a shift in consciousness; and a sensing that there are many... many expansions in consciousness... all is here at once... love to all

Gee were you conceived in a petri dish? Chemistry really? I am going to tell you the truth which you won't listen to and that's truly tragic because what I will describe will happen to you, yes you, chemistry boy. When you die, you'll descend into a pit and you will be terrified and no one will hear you screaming as you descend and descend into a putrid burning place and you'll wish you hadn't sneered at those who were trying to warn you, this world is just a facade hiding a very horrible place, Jesus suffered a lot to save you from that fate but you're too smart to listen. Too bad for you.

@@mcdk72 Without the best part of a millennium of Catholicism in Western Europe there would be no Protestant reformation. Catholicism came out of the society of the time... just as the reformation came out of early Modernity.
