This is a fantastic discussion. I came across it by accident and am so glad I did❤. I was raised Catholic. Went to Catholic grade school, high school and college. By the time I graduated from college, I had left the church. However I became much more spiritual. I have learned through my own experiences that attachment, especially to things, is hell. It separated me from God. I also believe that "Purgatory" is reincarnation. We continue to reincarnate, to keep learning and growing. I believe that we are working our way back to remembering that we are all one with all that is. We are all apart of God/Higher Power. We are re-membering that we are a part of the body of God ❤

If we stop eating we can still live for weeks and weeks , if we also stop drinking then we will die more likely within one week. in our village in Australia we aim to become a death aware community. Enjoyed this conversation very much. I find it difficult to think of life as "a gift," though. A gift compared to what? Death? Non-existence? If you did not exist, you would not have consciousness to know it. I find the idea of gratefulness to be alive a difficult concept. It makes sense to me only if you are already alive and have escaped an early death so you can continue to raise your children or something. Other than something like that I find the concept difficult to understand.
