“Look at the mechanism of fear. See what is before this fear, what associations have brought you to this state. You feel a sensation and label it “fear”. You project an image of an “I” who feels afraid, then place this image in a dark forest before a huge lion. The projection of yourself as a man, as a personality, arouses fear because the personality needs a situation to exist. Many of us prefer to suffer, prefer prolonging a hopeless condition because this gives the “I” a place to cling. If the “I” has nothing to grasp, it dies. But we must become accustomed to dying! See each situation afresh without referring to a past image of yourself. When you stop projecting a person, an image of yourself as a man, as intelligent, as a certain kind of personality, as having so many lovers, and so on, what happens? You are still and alert, but not alert to something. Then the situation doesn’t belong to an image but to global consciousness. When you are afraid, the “I” is involved in this fear and cannot intentionally let it go. The I-image drops away the moment fear becomes perception. And as fear needs stimulation from an image to exist, when there is no image, there is no fear.” - Jean Klein, “The Ease of Being”

Master Rupert is like our father figure...if not grandfather (regardless of age) who’s so loving and understanding. The way he comforts people like his own children (regardless of age) is really fascinating. The energy field around him and environment is so loving, peaceful and comfortable for anyone to express their deepest problems without any pinch of hesitation. They all become like small kids who are hurt for no reason and master is convincing us all like it’s this not this but this, this is true and this is not. Can’t have any better environment to confess or share the deeper thoughts and feelings. If I ever like to confess anything I’d require the same environment too. Long live master. ❤️🙏

Yes, if anybody enters deeper and deeper into one's own fear of his again and again coming or repeated haunting of experiences of his unpleasant bad past in the form of images and thoughts in his mind and body, then the resistance offered by him to avoid the fear gradually begins to evaporate and staying with the deepest level of fear gradually becomes easy until at one point the fear begins to lose its labels and change its nature with the gradual dissolving of its sensations until at some point all the fear dissipates out into complete awareness which is infinite and gives a feeling of no fear at all.

This was very helpful. I feel like something was realized from so much researching videos and studying. I felt a lot of similarities to this person's lesson. I may have to go through it again but I learned that this ego-mind is not me. I am not really scared or upset or angry. The ego mind is becoming scared and angry because it knows it's on the verge of being uncovered and losing its false sense of control. In the book of 1 John 4:18 it reads; "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear; because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love." I understand this even better now. The Bible is not all rubbish although most people seem to think so.

The fear in the body is an emotional memory from childhood when we felt unsafe, unsupported and so the survival mechanism of anxiety fight flight is activated...the stories are the perceived beliefs that we are not safe, not worth anything etc...yes we need to stay out of the stories to stop building the intensity of the fear...do we have to feel the past emotion by crying and releasing the emotional memory....

No, you do not. What you need to realize is that you are re creating the past fear in the present moment by clinging to a story that you are a separate self with a traumatic past. Learn to gently question everything you have been told about who you really are and how you got that way.
@DuongTran-mh7ci
@DuongTran-mh7ci 4 жыл бұрын
I find it very difficult if not impossible to rationalise fear and reason it off or apply what you find to get rid of fear. Your reasoning to disect fear and its relation to awareness is an impossible task. Reality of fear is different from what we conceptualise fear. We can never reason adequately and fast enough to catch reality. Its an exercise in futility. But just watch fear. Watching fear means instead of saying “ I am afraid ” you say “ I am watching fear”. This way you disengage with fear. Now you can see fear. You are not fear. You are not in the river of fear, you are out of the river of fear vecause you can see fear. Once you are out of the river of fear, you are not carried away by the waves of fear on the river of fear. And you are not giving any life, any energy to fear. Fear becomes hollow, empty, dead. Just watching fear or any other emotion like anger, sadness....

@@DuongTran-mh7cifear arises with some background unhappiness which then consolidates itself with a thought and then as you are carried away by the thought which arises from the past and scares you about the future. In my case I'd say the residue feeling left by the fear is not that horrific as the thoughts, if thought stops so does the fear. I have this alot. Recently when thought arised, habitually I followed them and resultantly there was this extreme sensations in my body, I closed by eyes and let those thoughts and feeling come fully (as I think back to that experience it was scary) but then after 2 hours I was calm again, but then again there was this "fear" of that fear arising again.

this is absolutely the best pastime (and i mean in it most respectful way you can imagine)... it can be aplied to any sensation but very useful for what we call intense or negative emotions/sensations... as it helps out with attachment to the labels we give to those emotions... and for those of us who identified with those emotions (precisely by resisting fully experiencing them and labeling them)... without dropping the labels completely as they can facilitate greatly the non-violent communication with ourselves and with the others... thank you! so much fun!

Trying to get rid off, resisting a feeling is our current default state. Instead of practicing letting go/releasing/getting rid of the feeling, we have to "un-habit" ourselves from the practice of letting go/releasing/getting rid of the feeling. In fact what we do is, we start to clearly see that feelings are not made out of thought but instead that they are made out of sensations. And sensations are just as our sensations in our feet - with no unpleasantness/resistance. One major problem that I have run into is falling into the trap of "let's sit down and feel my feelings so I can let them go... so I can achieve xyz goal". Once the goal is to "reprogramm the subconscious mind" you no longer see reality. You just 'use' the practice for egoic reasons.

What the lady in video is describing is similar to what I am experiencing as well. I get this 'sensation' especially at the point of falling into sleep and it affects my breathing by making it quiet shallow..This 'sensation' I am sure is just repressed trauma and emotions (had lots of trauma as a child and loss of family which I didn't grieve properly). Basically I intellectualized everything including my understanding of the universe and basically stopped feeling as a defense mechanism. Since I've been meditating I have noticed these sensations coming more and more to the surface...but it's like my mind won't let my body experience these sensations because by doing so it will lose its grip on the 'reality' it has created...i'm curious if anyone else is going through something similar...

Hi. Yes, that is a variation on something that may be more common than you think and I have experienced it, too. You are not alone. I want to say that I support and acknowledge your bringing it to the foreground and exploring it. That allows you to gain insight right from the start. What Rupert was doing may be something you could play with if you feel so inclined at this stage. Maybe watch the video a few times without first applying it to your situation, just to get a sense of the process in relation to awareness, thoughts and sensations. For instance, if you were to just relax and rest in awareness while rereading your post as if it were just an interesting story, what would you make of the structure of what was said? Are you aware, then, that there is an very obvious story that reinforces a reaction to potential experiences of certain sensations? Doing this in in a casual manner without trying to accomplish anything may influence how you experience it as a witness of the story. Find out. Of course, you would do this because you are interested in it with the sense of abiding with your experience rather than to fix something or "uncover" something, in this particular case. The stories can keep coming and create intricate plots that twist and turn and add this or that to what is merely a sensation there for you to be with. It is not about the story being wrong or bad or even something you have to stop or quit doing. When you are done reading a good book, don't you simply put it down and realize it was a story? That story may have had sensations along the way, too, and after reading the book you might have more, which your intellect then interprets as enjoyed, or boring, etc. Go gently and do it as you feel you need to and maybe, in a place where you feel comfortable and secure, especially if you want to delve into constrictions and trauma. Maybe pay attention and listen to go and stop signals at first? There is no hurry at all, really.

We have a choice love or fear. When you are with love, we have no room for fear. Fear is just an illusion. Take care.

💥 Here, Rupert tries to go deep on showing her a complete analysis of what fear is and show us. We're lucky to watch a true personal session going deep to get rid of fear. He uses her to unmask once and forever, that awareness knows no fear, and how we can proceed to face it. Krishnamurti said basically the same thing: When fear arises, don't run of it. Face it in the eyes, and the less resistance, the fear dissolves into nothing, because fear is just another thought. 🎉❤

The mind is somehow entangled with the body through its wrong-put attention..the shift of attention than creates a space between them where Life gets to express herself..when the space is created or established even the sensation in the body gradually subsides..this shift of attention requires courage(faith) to break the habits of the mind..Watching this video helped me to manage my mind in different direction..the established openess is beautiful! Dont be afraid affraid to be who you already are! Jump into the unknown!

My dilemma is this. I can easily recognize that my anxiety is coming from the mind. But because I have had this fear and anxiety for so long it has created habits and neural pathways in my brain and body. When I become anxious I start doing busy work and other things to discharge this anxiety. It seems to have created a conditioned habit that is much harder to break than the thought itself

@@dl7423 yess. I have to face it. When fear kicks in I was the most productive guy than anyone 😂. But when I goes away I am laziest . I m way it's like we are liking the fear to be more productive. Just watch the sensations In the body and just observe the breath. Don't mind thoughts,hurts in the body ,this that etc . Just watch the sensations. And if you surely want to think than think about watchness just for a little moment. That watchness alone brings understanding that those are impermenant. And once you see they are changing ... Freedom ✨

Non-dual awareness has no fear because awareness cannot die, cannot suffer. However the separate self cannot escape fear because it is the ego's fear of pain and annihilation. This fear can stem from situational perception or even the direct psychic injection of fearful thoughts and emotions by those higher up the food chain than us. Similar to a parent yelling at a small child, but without words or other sounds.

He asks the lady to feel the sensations in the Body while putting her thoughts to the side. And says the thought itself (not the sensation) is what’s causing the suffering. But if his point is to resist nothing in our experience, wouldn’t that also mean not resisting the most painful part of the experience which is always going to be the thought itself? (He explains that the sensation isn’t what causes suffering, but the thoughts that go with it - which include the resistance) Isnt separating the thought from the sensation to let yourself feel it fully, inherently a resistance of the thought itself, which is more painful than the sensation ? isn’t resistance/thought itself what’s painful? So isn’t pushing away resistance/thought the same thing as denying what’s painful, which is the same thing as resistance in the first place?

I think a better title would be “awareness cannot be consumed by fear” because fear can most definitely be felt and known by awareness, or else we would not know we are afraid in the first place

Problems only apear to an imagined self, an illusion, a void For awareness the illusion is not a problem at all. My question to Rupert : why should you teach ? Why tell an illusion that it's an illusion ?

I had to take this audio to Audacity to increase the volume so I could hear it. I'm wondering if what is said here could really, really work for someone with severe and complex PTSD and panic disorder. Does it finally stop finding another new outlet to express itself?

if you can be aware of it then yes... but if makes you fall asleep over and over again then its a problam you can be aware when you are not under attack and get stronger to face it and be aware of it in time of atrauma attack, which is very hard///

The individual self is not an illusion. The illusion is the belief that you are that individual. That belief which is also called ignorance, is held in the individual mind so it is the individual that must "see" the falsehood as a falsehood.

Indeed, the illusion is the belief that you are that individual, but it's not Jane --the character playing Mary in this dimension that has to wake-up, it's Mary, consciousness so to speak, that has to wake-up to itself thus lucid dream.

Wonder if there is a word for Yes-no, i.e staying with something without resistance whilst changing it as its unwholesome. The Tai Chi players use the saying 'running is sticking' when doing pushing hands. Maybe 'deflection' would suffice for movement whilst staying. I know with cars they call it 'anti-lock breaking'.
