Fantastic video, again, thank you for the thought-provoking, inspiring ideas. And I cannot agree more, Budapest is an awesome place for street photography.

The timing of your video is perfect! I will go to the King of Streets event in San Francisco on Saturday. I have gone each year for several years. Your video is a great primer for me.

Very interesting and well presented video. Next time I won't cuss at the parked care blocking my subject.

Excellent video with some great tips! For more amazing car photography I would also recommend the work of Langdon Clay. He specialized in stunning color images of cars at night in the rundown, grimy streets of New York during the 1970s. The colors are gorgeous. Some of the Lee Friedlander photographs have been reprinted in other books such as "Lee Friedlander: Framed" which is a fairly recent and rather wonderful book.

Thank you for this video. Cars are ubiquitous in cities. I try to avoid the parked ones in my images. Your video has caused me to pause and reconsider this. I have been doing intentional camera movement (ICM) lately. Cars and buses have caught my attention when they are in motion. I haven’t done any head/taillight streams of color images. What I have been doing recently is using the car or window as a reflective surface for my street photography. I do like a clean car for this. I haven’t used a car window as a frame though. Love the Saul Leiter images. Seems like he never let an umbrella pass him without photographing it. He did use cars frequently in his images. Sometimes from within one. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)

Last week, I went to the big parking lot at work hoping to find some interesting cars or unique colors to finish a test roll in an camera new to me. I was so disappointed: every single car - among hundreds - were various shades of silver, gray, or black with a couple on dark navy blue, almost indistinguishable from black. The cars weren't even interesting; all cookie cutter 4 door sedans and small SUVs. The only exception was an old, cream white Rover 75. I am not particularly fond of Rovers, but it was different. Yesterday I saw a video about Stephen Shore. He had this one elevated shot looking down at a parking lot full of colorful, dramatic cars. I wonder what happened to make society so dull and formulaic. Thanks for the video.

There's a couple of books in there that I'm going to have to ask a librarian to get for me.

Wonderful overview of how you can be creative with cars in your frame! Out of curiosity, how did you manage to get permission to use in the video photographs from all those photographers? My experience is that is quite time consuming and expensive to get those authorizations.
