Cannot stress enough, keep that sanding disc clean and wet. keep an eye on the spot youre doing like he stated. Look for pigtails or gouging. If so, id even swap to a new disc depending on. Its a great and faster method i feel, but also easy to really damage the paint if youre careless.

Hi Brian, Rupes actually recomends using very little water with these. They call it "damp" sanding instead of wet sanding, just couple sprays of water on pad, not dumping pad in the water. I like to use them, very useful and safe tools. Also please dont call them Rupeeees... Other than that I am your fan, thanks fpr the videos!
@apexdetail854 жыл бұрын
Damp does not flush the pad clean...disregard their method.

3M>Everything. Brian, try using the 3M tri-zact system. 1500-2000-3000-5000-8000 grit. The 8000grit almost starts to polish the paint.

Ive been noticing the scratches turn white after Even the though i wiped and cleaned. Then white minor scratches are white and the white wont come out of the scratches. Any idea ?
@p-bosproautodetailing5404 жыл бұрын
Are they better or just as good as trizact disc?
@jeremys83604 жыл бұрын
A few 3000 grit discs would be really good for bird poo stains and isolated scratches

I dont have a pneumatic Sander. Can i use these foam pads with my electric polish to remove orange peel?
@MrSulkow14 жыл бұрын
These look a lot like the Mirka Abralon disks that I use. The Mirka are just gray in color. They work fine, but 3m Trizact is much easier to compound out. Sadly I can't afford Trizact for most projects

I'm new to wet sanding, how long are these supposed to last?I have used these for headlight restoration and both the 1500 and 3000 are shot after 2 headlights, don't know if that's normal or not
@virendrawate21284 жыл бұрын
They are very shot life

Mine have lasted 3 jobs on average.

Apex Detail Hmm okay, i don’t think i used too much pressure either. I also used enough water. Figured they would last at least 2 sets of headlights, oh well they did work good

So after sanding you use a polish like 3D One, do you use a sealant or wax after that? Or another product?
@williamcharon88604 жыл бұрын
Will like to know also.
@MrMetalbandit4 жыл бұрын
You want to use a coarse polish that’s meant for 1500 sanding marks. Proceed with a fine polish, then a sealant then a wax and you’re all set but after the polish, you’re done. Sealant and wax is to protect the paint
@williamcharon88604 жыл бұрын
@@MrMetalbandit thanks for the feedback. I am using Xtreme Poly Seal but i notice that it doesn't last. Any Sealent and Wax you will like to recommend?
@MrMetalbandit4 жыл бұрын
William Charon Personally I love CarGuys hybrid sealant and their liquid wax (not chemical guys). 303 has a good touchless sealant. I use it on maintenance washes. But my go to after polishing paint is the carguys hybrid sealant, turtle wax seal and shine, then the carguys liquid wax. Then I use the 303 touchless sealant for the following washes

What are your thoughts on ONR or clay lube instead of water?
@vladimirsmola87064 жыл бұрын
You will get more lubrication and less cut, it works, but the job will take you longer
