I had a complete rapture and the surgery. Be patient, those heel raises are the last struggle, they are so difficult to achieve and it takes a lot of time and patience. I'm on my 8th month like this guy and I can do heel raises with both feet but I still can't do a single heel raise, because I'm lacking a certain percentage of strength on my metatarsus, but I will gain it back again. So don't worry if you can't do a single heel raise yet. A lot of people recover differently. We are working on gaining strength.

I had non surgical repair of my rupture and I’m about to turn over to the 8 month mark and just started straight line running. 2 months ago it looked like I was going in for a tendon graft and it all came together. Just trust the process anyone out there going through it. It only gets easier

This patient is about 1 year and 8 months after surgery, any chance you can get them in for a progress video. I need to see what the inflammation looks like and if they are able to do the single calf raise for motivation

I have a question sir! What will happen if you torn your Achilles tendon again? The same Achilles that have the surgery?
@andrewharrison67157 ай бұрын
I can roughly 90% weight heel raise. But getting to the single heel raise i just cant make the transition. To much pain. Been stuck at this stage the past month now. I only get one physio appointment per month. I got back this week and feel like no progress has been made. Im at the 7 month stage now.

I was able to hit a single leg calf raise 3 months post surgery. I'm at 7 months now and can run decently, jump, etc. However, my single leg calf raise height hasnt increased much.. I'm hoping in the next few months I can get more range of motion during the single calf raise. Side note, I ruptured my left achilles 2 years ago. Then I ruptured my right achilles 7 months ago.. 😅
@ikeman97848 ай бұрын
Yo that's my biggest fear. I've ruptured the right one 4 months ago an I'm addressing all imbalances in my body as I rehab to prevent exactly that..
@AlexSmith-zn5sf3 ай бұрын
How did the second one happen if you don’t mind me asking?
@MoonCultureFilms3 ай бұрын
@AlexSmith-zn5sf so both of them happened while playing basketball. 1st time I jumped, landed, then tried to sprint forward and my left achilles snapped. Second time I simply did a backstep and the right one snapped. It's been a year and 3 months since my right Achilles rupture now btw. I'm never playing basketball again lol

You may have had a collagen deficiency. Plenty of protein and vitamin c. The Vitamin C creates collagen and keratin from amino acids in the body.

You need to see a physiotherapist. I thought I was doomed after 4 months, but I'm now able to run after 6½ months. I only had 7 physio sessions mind you. (And it was all about massaging, ultrasound, and inducing electricity)

@MoonCultureFilms Жыл бұрын
You'll be feeling stiffness in your achilles for at least 6 months. The first 3 months are terrible. It's completely normal to feel extremely stiff at your point in time. I went through this surgery twice, so I know the feeling you're feeling too well lol. You'll get that range and flexibility back over time, as long as you take rehab seriously throughout your recovery process.
