If you want to hear something different from RUSH and Geddy's voice, then watch "The Garden" from their Clockwork Angels tour. I literally cry each time I hear it, because it was near the end of them touring, and it was Neil's way of saying "Goodbye". The foreshadowing of what was to come years later is chilling.
@kimbarry46746 ай бұрын
That is prolly one of my top 3 Rush performances....I love Geddys voice from every era but The Garden being the last song on their last album and the meaning behind the song it's hard not to be emotional everytime you watch it❤️🇨🇦🎸

There is another Rush song is also very emotional. Song is Red Sector A. Red Sector A is very personal to Geddy Lee because Neil wrote about liberation of Nazi Concentration Camp near Bergen-Belsen. One of the survivors was Geddy Lee's mother, Manya (Mary). His father was held in another concentration near Dachau. Geddy Lee stated his mother has very thick accent. She calls him, "Geddy" as his birth's is Gary Lee. I think this song is a tribute to his parents and other survivors.

Yeah, cause we'd all be so disappointed to see it again and again! hahahaha - you're so funny! Took an ex-girlfriend to a concert and she was an instant fan, watching their documentaries and calling me when she found them. They were special in person, but there was never such a thing as too many times seeing them. Wish I could have seen them more. I've been bugging you for Xanadu. Bring a seat belt. Make sure it's "Exit Stage Left" performance, because it's simply perfection. In the top two all-time live musical performances w-Ghost Love Score at Wacken. I want a front row seat to that reaction, please reserve it for me.

I think one thing that differentiates Rush fans from fans of other bands is that Rush fans can tell you you when they became Rush fans. As a child of the 70s I remember hearing Working Man, Fly by Night, and Closr to the Heart on the radio. It wasn't unti I was a teenager in the early 80s when I heard Tom Sawyer and became a Rush fan that I made the connection that all those songs were by the same band....mind blowing when you're 15 years old.

Redheadedneighbor. Geddys voice became deeper because he couldn't sing the high notes anymore. He didn't sing incorrectly, or abuse his voice, in his younger years. He just "over used" it. Singing in his style, always at a high pitch, finally caught up to him. And of course age changes everything! He's like Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden: he had a great "belt" in his early years, but singing the high notes (which is his signature sound), is not the same now. But these guys are and will always be my heroes. When the news broke here in Canada (and it WAS breaking news), that Neil passed in January of 2020 (just before the pandemic hit us all), I cried... absolutely balled my eyes out for hours! And was very depressed for days and weeks after his death. Rush had come to an end, and would never be again. R.I.P. brother Neil. Anyway, love your reactions. I can tell you really "get" Rush, which is amazing since so many don't get them...at all. Cheers from 🇨🇦.
@JonDickinson-dq9oj5 ай бұрын
Very true. Unfortunately Geddy over used his voice in his younger years. Plus he got older, which sucks. They were the best of the best. Didn't get "love" until later years. Were not on mainstream radio, but made it big (or should I say HUGE)! All the best from the home of Rush 🇨🇦.
