Back in 1987, before the World Wide Web, it was radio shows like Rockline and magazine articles that helped us learn more about Rush and what they were all about. I remember listening to this broadcast back in college and even recall some of the questions, that's how impressionable it was. What a blast from the past, thanks for the upload!

Geddy (all of them actually) seem to be the nicest most gentle and grounded people. I just love everything about Rush and could listen to Ged talk all day.

The question about Alex taking a back seat is interesting in light of the discussion of this in Geddy’s autobiography. Hearing this again after 37 years, you still feel the flash of excitement and anticipation hearing the show’s theme song. This was when you had to tune in live and maybe tape the show off the radio. There weren’t thousands of hours of Rush interviews available on demand and an algorithm serving them up to you. BTW, I’ve never heard BC get so surly with callers, LOL.

Interesting time capsule. It was the period that my listening habits went elsewhere.

Can’t believe this under-appreciated album came out 35 years ago ! My older brother saw that tour in Atlanta.. said it was phenomenal.. lol, if you had told Geddy in 1987 that he’d be playing at Madison Square Garden in the 2010’s era, he probably would’ve been like, there’s no friggin way 😆

Mannnn! I need a Time Machine so I could go back and speak to Geddy ! I would have asked, “ Who comes up with the initial groove and how they decide on what and how toe different parts are made?” A. J. C., III 21 Dec 23

You know this “method” or “platform” if you will, was very much the social media version of well all the big apps today and while it is low tech for today, it is/was WAY BETTER and more real than the snap/insta/FB virtual world we have inherited. #RIP#Radio#NEP#Bob Coburn🤘🖖✌️🥁🎹🎸🎤

Geddy's story of how he got his first guitar is uncertain here; but now he categorically states his mom lent him the money to buy it.

I uploaded a shorter HYF interview with Neil about a year ago: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eJqwqJRqrrqohs0 No other HYF interviews come to mind, other than the next Rockline show I’ll be uploading from Feb ‘89, which is promoting A Show Of Hands I think.

I love these! Thank you, your hard work is very appreciated. I was wondering, do you happen to have any recordings from the Kiel Auditorium (St. Louis, Missouri) in 1977? Someone told me that they were at that concert.
@RushArchives2 жыл бұрын
No, unfortunately there’s no known recording from Kiel Auditorium in 1977.
