Excellent job! 👍 I love Rush so the music is already in my head and you did great, better than me. I like your bass drum work, those little things that people hardly notice on the radio.

Woohoo! Great job, Chris! Also with your drum chart! 👏😀 The mighty Rush have been one of my favourite bands since '89, and it was a very sad day when I heard the news of Neil Peart's passing (I cried). I had always thought of 'Limelight' as one of their more straightforward songs - I'm not so sure anymore now, after watching your video! 😄

Thanks for watching--I'm glad you enjoyed it. I know what you mean about feeling sad when Neal died. My friend Alan White just passed away as well. Very sad.

Thank you for the kind words--I appreciate it. It's amazing the range of opinions these videos elicit. It's a good thing I have thick skin! Of course, when it comes to negative comments I receive I always think of the wise words of a mentor of mine, "Remember, it's not what's wrong with you, it's what's wrong with them!" Thanks for watching!

@@christhedrummerkimball I never leave any Un-asked for criticism for anyone. I’ll ask for it for myself but it isn’t very helpful if the criticism doesn’t come with a suggestion lol. It’s a tough thing we do, putting ourselves out there for the world. Keep up the great work and all the best!

Thanks for the positive feedback! It really is weird, I don't know if he was using a click track so he could just do whatever he wanted knowing he would always know where the beat was,, or if he just was able to keep things in his head. Or, he might have been playing along with the other musicians, which would have the same effect as playing to a click track. Thank you for watching, I appreciate it!

@@christhedrummerkimball you know, I've actually wondered the same things! I've even gone through and watched the original video for the studio track to see if there was anything visually that could have helped. I'm so dated. Take care brother, love the videos!

@@christhedrummerkimball Red Barchetta was recorded in a single take, suggesting they may have recorded other tracks "live", then again we're talking about Neil here, he was a human metronome! Fine job on this btw, nicely done!

What is that drumnkit?
@christhedrummerkimball3 жыл бұрын
The copper-plated one is a Sonor HiLite Exclusive (but the roto-toms and octobans are not Sonor--I plated them to match the Sonors), and the White set is a North drum kit from the '70s. Thanks for watching!
