What am I planning for the weekend? Because I wrote numerous things in the memo books, I can do a lot of copying of the notes into the computer files. Then, there's the sorting of the old documents for recycling. I almost finished reading a book.

In Lithuania (North Europe), employees get 4 weeks of vacation a year which can carry over to next year up to 12 weeks total. Technically, teachers get 2 months a year, up to 6 months carried over (which never happens of course as teachers have limited windows of vacation). About cashing out voluntarily, I'm not sure, but if you leave work, the employer has to pay unused vacation days. Sick days are 100% paid for first 2 days, then it goes down to 50-80% (if remember correctly there are different % based on how long you're sick/hospitalized, it goes down for first few days (to like 60%) , then goes back up to 80%. but in the end you still get paid quite a lot for it). Parental leave is paid up to 3 months (for both parents), then you can take time off up to 3 years of unpaid and employer has to keep position for you
