Avid Profile (Venue Series) console with JBL Vertec line array. Indeed a great system.

I can’t believe they don’t use a click track! That’s almost unheard of!

Can you put these into playlists so we can binge on them please? Great content. Can't wait to watch through it.

In highly reflective rooms, especially large venues, the low end "hangs" excessively. It's called the period of the room, or the time a given frequency continues to be heard after it's no longer played. It can be nearly impossible to get rid of it in some rooms. It always drives me nuts that music is performed in facilities that are not suitable for music. Outdoors is my favorite acoustic environment for live electric music.

I went to a couple of outdoor shows...won't ever go to another one....the band may like it but if your part of the audience it loses a lot....it's not the same quality

Sloan Champion Oh that’s interesting. I’m curious to hear some more detail if that’s okay? I’ve never been to a concert in a large venue.

@ljmike1204 Remember thats most likely 102 A weighted which is quite loud.
@drummersoundguy13 жыл бұрын
@ljmike1204 Basically 102 is still loud it just depends what weighting you use on your dB meter. Most concerts use "A" weighting which basically does not measure low frequencies. This weighting is used quite alot in live sound because it measures the painful frequencies. Another weighting is C weighting which is all frequencies. So at the sound desk it may be 102 A weighted but in C weighting including low frequencies it is probably more like 115-120 dBC

Just about all bands have some sort of lyrics monitor now. Some are hidden better than others.

As a fan of shows, I would be perfectly happy as an audience member if they announced they were going to blast the room with white noise after the crowd got in there to setup the EQ. Most shows are actually pretty mediocre sound-wise. Some rooms are impossible, but I'd rather hear a flatter response from the start of the show than listen to a sound guy tinker through the first half.

@drummersoundguy oke so its more DB on 102 than 120DB

EVERY big band with a massive budget have those on stage, how many of those artists are sober enough to remember the lyrics?

Presonuz it's not just you Brent does have a chip on his shoulder and it almost spoiled my enjoyment of the series had they not given the other guys some video time. What a negative person to begin the series with when Rush represent remaining positive in the face of adversity and being passionate about your work. He doesn't seem to happy with his job and I'm baffled because he works for RUSH! He doesn't know how good he has it
@TheLovelyRushka11 жыл бұрын
He's doing something that most people only dream about and even get depressed they can't live that dream and here he is acting so casual and nonchalant about it and what's worse is I think he said it was only his third tour!! He's a new guy and he's talking down on other crew members, some who are veterans...who the hell does he think he is? What an arrogant egomaniac. Even acts like he's better that Rush themselves His attitude makes me sick.

Susan Sexton-Hernandez He is also being asked a ton of questions...requested to tell and explain everything he is doing..and most important...the audience is about to come in and the show is about to start...so the documentary thing is wasting his time!!...As a Sound engineer, I don't bother anyone while doing my job...but the 10-15 mins someone bothers me or distracts me...its 10-15 mins I just wasted and the deadline is not gonna stop..The show must go on...It certainly IS a dream job...the part where you get to see, talk to, work with...musicians (sometimes your favorites)...but the rest is just a pain in the as5...especially when you're done with your part..but the rest is not...or you can't continue because someone hasn't done their job...

Well that's a lot of fancy sound gear but it didn't bloody well work at sheffield did it ? Don't get me wrong - the band where fabulous but fuck me - the sound was possibly the very worst I've ever had the misfortune to experience. I swore I will never ever go go a venue like that again (sheffiled arena (time machine tour)) and I never will. It's time bands started caring about the quality of venues instead of 'how many can we pack in' - seriously.
@TJH31136 жыл бұрын
Totally agree. Their later years had some of the worst sound I've ever heard.
