One of my favorite playing live. I remember seeing them at Mohegan Sun in CT when they played this song I was amazed that Neil’s kit didn’t fall apart based on how hard he was hitting them. Such a heavy awesome track.

Thanks Todd! This is becoming one of my very favourite Rush songs. ❤ I absolutely love this performance. Alex's guitar work 🔥🔥🔥

Neil's mother once asked him why he didn't smile while performing because he always looked so serious. Neil's reply? "What I do is really difficult mom and it's hard to get it right, so I have to concentrate."

This record is soooooo underrated by Rush fans. The remix made it possibly a top 6 RUSH record IMO.
@ericvonsteuben75336 ай бұрын
Yeah, I think it's underrated because of the original release. It was just a wall of sound. There were absolutely no dynamics. I've been a diehard fan for decades, as well as my roommate at the time, and when we heard Vapor Trails for the first time when it was released, we laughed and basically said, "What the hell is this?" It was pretty horrible sounding. The remastered version however is great and sounds like Rush.

I bought it ('Vapor Trails', 2002) when it first came out, and it was DIFFERENT (EVEN for Rush)... I LIKE THIS ALBUM MORE AND MORE EVERY YEAR! I prefer the ORIGINAL MIX to the Re-Mix.

@@steveschaff4620 Glad you do, but I can't crank the original super loud without giving myself a migraine. It clips and it snap, crackle, pops. Thankfully, Rush fixed that on the remix:)

Geddy is my fav rock star. I think its because he sings like a banshee, shreds the bass like that, multi-tasks with his feet and the keys, and STILL manages to hop around tbe stage and goof off and entertain. Most musicians would be locked into the 'task' of playing the damn song, and terrified of straying too far from the mic and keys. There is nothing normal about Geddy, and yet he is a very reasonable, grounded normal guy... its wierd.

The way that Alex & Geddy wrote together, I'm sure they reversed roles plenty of times. I've always had the sense that Rush are collectively a symbiotic being existing in a matrix of pure musical expression, enveloped in artistic freedom. because after all, That's what they stood for... RIP Professor.

Can’t believe how few people know about this great song. Masterpiece. Favorite part of the video is the glimpse of Neil between the drums at 5:42…unshakable concentration!

Obviously when they toured it had to be agreed to by the three of them. But later in their careers, Neil fought some degree of arthritis and wear and tear from years of drumming and Alex started to suffer from arthritis in his hands or fingers, they weren't quite as keen to go on longer tours and keep the kind of schedule that they used to keep. The one that seemed to push for touring in their later years was Geddy. So even though it must have been a lot of preparation, Geddy always looks like he's having a great time. The final tour, R40, had an incredible stage show where they went through their album catalog backwards in time (started with songs from Clockwork Angels and went backwards all the way to 'Rush') and had stage hands continually change the background to look like it had when they had toured at the time, and it was absolutely phenomenal (I know it would be too long for a reaction, but it was so cool to watch the stage regress). They scheduled 30 dates and Geddy really really wanted to extend the tour, but Neil was done. And that's ok. I had a sneaking suspicion that the second R40 show I saw in June of 2015, in Buffalo, was going to be the last time I got to see Rush live.
