Stick It Out has the absolutely most badass ride cymbal in the history of rock.

Oh yes! The ride sounds great across the whole album. And the snare as well. Both very powerful.

Neil Peart always knows just the right amount of complexity and less-is-more technique for what was necessary to the song. Stick it Out is a prime example of Neil using rhythm but staying away from fills for the sake of giving weight to every beat he plays. Brilliant!

4:15 that's hilarious these guys really know how to have fun. Most bands just kinda stand there on stage playing their instruments but these guys are gutsy enough to do what ever they want up there. I really like that about them!

I hear that! I saw them on the Roll the bones tour with Primus and than again counterparts tour with Primus again! Both shows at Madison Square Garden,NYC My 2 fav bands together!.Did you know Rush and Primus had recorded both bands jamming together at each other sound checks I'd love to hear that also there was a Les Claypool and Geddy Lee instrumental album they were putting together (Geddy playing Guitar and some of it) but it never saw the light of day yet Geddy said in nterviews at the time that he still had the DAT tapes of demo songs ......id do anything to hear those

HOLY SHIT!! I just realized...thanx to the little interlude/banter between Dirk and Lerxst...that I actually HAVE this CD Bootleg. It's called Majestic Symphonies. It has 2 discs including bonus of the Electric Ladyland recordings in 74' - 75' Obviously doing tunes from Rush and Fly By Night!! This is an AWESOME discovery. Now I can actually watch what I've been hearing since 95' -96'!!! FUCKIN RUUUUSH!!! \m/ \m/ \m/

The sound you hear is a sample of the vocals. I believe it was triggered on accident. During the chorus of the song you can tell that the vocals are triggered with Geddy singing over it.

@RollTheFemers If you're talking about the the loud high pitched harmonic that starts at 1:18, I'm no musician, so I don't know the correct terminology, but I bet Alex Lifeson is doing a trick with the foot peddles, sampling the sound as he turns up the volume playing the note on the two lower strings. Then he just taps the peddle when he wants to play the sound again. Just a guess, though.

@RollTheFemers Listen to the chorus, when they have the effect that does something to their voices, hear the similarity? I think Geddy must have made one of those random little noises no ever knows why they are made, a little grunt, and the mic picked it up, with that effect on, i don't know why it would have been on then, maybe the footage was not in-sync, and it was Alex's mic, cause he would have had to turn that on then.

it may be because the guitar feedback sound on Alex's guitar during the intro riff is a triggered sample, and a sample of backing vocals was accidentally triggered instead of the guitar feedback sample
