Turn The Page bass cover. Playing over the live version from A Show Of Hands which is the version I like listening to the most. As with loads of Rush songs, my favourite version of it is a live one (at the moment at least!) because I really like the tempo that they played this song at on the tour. I guess it's testament to their incredible live play that so many fans choose a specific live version as their favourite recording of a Rush song (feel free to leave any favourites in comments and I might be convinced to use that version when I get to covering the song :))
This is one of the few iconic bass parts that I had never got around to learning until recently. I learned the intro and some of the first verse years ago but nothing past that, so I decided to get the rest of it down a couple of months ago when a few people suggested I do a cover of it on my channel. It was a lot of fun to learn and will be on my practice rotation in the future pretty regularly I imagine because it's a damned difficult bass part!
Hope you enjoy it!

He was asked in an interview befpre if there are any songs 0f theirs that are too difficult live and it was heavily implied to be this one, it was only ever played on on the Show of Hands tour as far as I know. All I can say is that I keep coming back and watching this regularly and it makes my day musically, every time. Really nice audio and wonderfully detailed video. Appreciated the sweet and growly tone that cut through the live recording. Also a superb way for the lay person to see just how dang busy Geddy was on this one with the video. He wanted to be a great juggler? He learned to juggle very well. And the creativity... what a way to use most of the fretboard and be busy while serving the song and not sounding too busy... it's only until you see it that you know.

This video is inspiring me to try to play parts of this song, but all I have is a little Stingray bass and the ability to pick with one finger. I love that little walk down at 0:24 and 0:46 but dang if they aren't at least twice the speed that I'm used to playing...Ah well, maybe I'll get there someday.
