It’s not aggression, it’s fear. My dog is never aggressive, it’s reactionary. Its completely understandable for what scar went through. My dog only acts out when she gets scared. Just reassure him that you still love him, trust me he probably feels horrible when he realized it was you and not the other dog. It was a horrible accident but I’m glad you are both okay. Yeahh my dog was the same way. My dog is a rescue and he was abused. He was so loving and then one day I believe the 4th of July he attacked my sister out of no where . There were fireworks going on and actual fire outside . So I think that’s what caused it.

The most important thing is to make him feel safe. He does that because in that moment he was scared and didn’t feel safe. Just reassure him you love him. A dog can have PTSD just like a person can, when they get out of it trust me they definitely feel the guilt. Especially because they can’t really communicate to a person that it was an accident. Dogs feel really connected to their owners emotions, so just keep that in mind when being around him. He responds to your energy. He needs to know you guys are calm and that everything is okay.

You’re absolutely correct. I recently had an awful experience with an anesthesiologist. It was my first time going under anesthesia and he was the meanest person. Very cold, very condescending. I cried in the bathroom before my surgery because of him. I felt very nervous and unsafe having him put me under. He didn’t even walk me through the anesthesia process. He put equipment on my face and before I knew it I was waking up from the operation. My fiancé told me that the anesthesiologist hit my shoulder really hard to wake me up and made fun of the way I woke up as well. People like him don’t deserve to work in the medical field.

June 4th 2022 . I was brutally attacked by as dog and he tore my lips apart . 75 % of my bottom lips were shredded , 30 % of my top lip missing . I truly understand. My heart goes out to the both of you . I’m still recovering til this day and had multiple surgeries done 😢 God is still so Good !

@mike carson That’s 100% not true. Getting rid of the dog will not fix anything. If anything they need to give more love to Scar, he is traumatized which caused him to react. Scar reacted out of FEAR, not aggression. Dogs can’t speak and say, “I’m scared”, so they do what they know to do. I’ve had rescue dogs my whole life and I’ve never given up on any of them. I worked with them, was patient, respected their space, learned their triggers, and eventually every single one of them had 100% trust in everyone. Having a bunch of mastiffs before doesn’t mean anything, any dog can attack out of fear from trauma, so that fact is pretty irrelevant.

I hope Garik is doing okay, and it truly hurts me to see Britney so upset…..y’all are gonna get through this, I’m praying for Garik’s speedy, and healthy recovery. There’s actually a girl out in California named Brooklinn Khoury (skateboarder) who unfortunately had part of her upper lip bitten off by I believe a pitbull a few years ago. She’s been documenting her journey on Instagram of how she looked back then, the healing process, and she’s very close to getting a new lip soon….So this situation with Garik reminded me of that. I think we all need to remember that while dogs are beautiful and amazing pets, dogs are still animals no matter what. A pet no matter what it is, is still an animal and no matter how hard you train an animal to be a house pet, it’s still going to act like animal regardless. I think this is something that a lot of pet owners specifically dog and even cat owners need to take seriously and learn from.

I'm glad you guys are okay now, January 27 was my birthday and that's literally sad that garik had to go through that experience. My parent's reaction was the same as Britney's when our neighbor's dog attacked me and bit my head. The doctors had to inject my wound directly because it was that bad and they told my parent's that if I wasn't sent to the ER immediately, I could have died. So, I can relate to how traumatizing the situation must have been for you two.

I begged for them to help me save her.. I cried while they laughed. Then the next 2 days we’re crucial , they mistreated me, harassed me, hurt me physically.. and when it was time to go the nurse needed information on where the service and burial where going to take place, I didn’t have the information for her and she started telling me so many mean things. I was in disbelief. I’ll never forget that💔

So sorry this happened to you! Love the support she has for you. I was also bit in the face by a dog when I was like 9. My dumbazz tried to force the dog to eat by pushing his face down towards his food bowl, came up & bit me in the nose. Had a scar on my nose for years but it's not there anymore. Usually people are afraid of dogs after things like this happens but it's never made me scared tbh. Definitely blessed bc it could've been a lot worse.

First off, I want to say I’m really glad Garik is okay and that it was only a snip and not a chunk of his face. I know it was a shock and still upset with Scar but he knew he was wrong which is why he ran away. It was definitely an accident but don’t ignore those warnings signs like how she said he growled. I think it’s best that when you show affection to the dogs, don’t let the other one be anywhere near or in the Same room if he is dealing with fear. Britney, girl you had me tearing up because I see how much you love Garik and it was a shocking moment but thank God it was nothing serious than a lip chunk. The doctor really did an amazing job and I hope you recover quick Garik! 🫶🏼

Speedy recovery! I can relate to feeling ugly after an incident on the face. This past July I got hit by a firework sharp on Fourth of July. It busted my lip and chin. Just like Garik I was upset, feeling like I’d be ugly now, especially because it’s on my face. It’s been months now and I still have a scar but I have to remind myself the firework could have taken my whole face. For weeks after the incident, I kept covering it up with concealer. Head high Garik and Britney. You guys have a lot of support 🤞🏼
