Scott Taylor is 100% correct. It’s funny the turbo guys want the advantage of big end mph but don’t want any of the negatives that come with it like trouble spooling at high altitude tracks. They choose their combinations knowing that. Lutz is the one who did him dirty by double bulging Scott.

Both Scott and lutz are solid men I respect them both but Scott isn’t required to accommodate lutz or anyone else that’s why the rules are in place to keep the guess work out of it but I understand why lutz would be frustrated and Scott would do as he did holding lutz to the rules at the end of the day Scott played by the rules

IMO, that's some of the problems with no prep. In NHRA/IHRA, they would have been thrown out for the extended burn down time. That's coming from a long time NHRA fan, though. If no prep is your thing, all power to you. I do wish they would do something about the crowds on the track. One mechanical explosion and someone is gonna get hurt badly. Just my 2 cents.

The crowd is mostly drivers and photographers and their mechanics and stuff. But they do have to stay back a certain distance. It’s dangerous but it’s their problem they sign a waiver to be able to stand up there. I stand there every race I go to and I get a view and pictures it’s hard to get from the sidelines

I always thought courtesy was, first person lights one bulb, next person lights 2, the first person THEN lights the 2nd bulb and your off. This way you can't melt someone down.

If Jeff had just spooled, lit one bulb and waited for Scott to light one bulb like you are supposed to, they both would then light the second and race.. Instead he tried to double bulb Scott to get an advantage and Scott didn't play along with his game. Scott did nothing dirty at all, JEFF was the one doing some dirty racing there with that double bump/bulb.

Was attending races in So Cal since 64', and racing for myself since being licensed in 74'. If there are no rules....its just mayhem. If the series has rules...that's what you go by for competition. If the series and/or racers decide to make a change, then that's what everyone must follow (e.g. index/class racing adjusting for altitude). At times I will absolutely wait extra time (within reason) for my competitor....but I've never been asked to waive the agreed upon rules...ever. Just my experience, no judgment.

We're u all saying the same thing when. The weight rule came into play this last season? It made turbo/blower cars add weight, where nitrous cars were good. That rule definitely helped nitrous cars.

More like "Playpen Outlaws". Sure you could call it poor sportsmanship, but I see it as just another form of negotiation that Scott wasn't willing to give Lutz. No different than asking for the hit or giving someone the back tire and your competition saying "No, I'm not doing that for you". So they're saying that it's illegal to double bulb the other driver but I've heard Kye say it time and time again that that's what he'd planned to do against his opponent with his nitrous set up. If it's in the rules they're not allowed to double bulb, then nowhere in the rules does it say that you have to give your opponent an edge. So yeah, it was wrong for Jeff to have that crybaby fit. He lined up for the race and LOST.
