#Zwift #FTP #Traning I took the FTP test after completing the 6 week FTP builder programme on Zwift. It was horrible but happy with the results.

Great effort. With better pacing your FTP may be a little higher. It's so easy to overcook it initially. Will be interesting to see your next test when fully recovered from illness.

I’m over it now. I’m going to do a ramp test at some point this week mainly to how it compares and I heard that it’s more consistent for power output (I think)

@@CyclingwithRuss Ramp test takes pacing out of the equation. Simply ride to exhaustion. When it starts getting really hard I find what is onscreen important. Mentally, I can push harder on the flat or a climb rather than a descent (even though ERG mode means this is physically immaterial).

Good job man. Did my first ftp on zwift today 252. I also will start the 6 week training program on zwift. Good progress congrats 🙌

That’s a great base line number. Keep intouch buddy will be good to hear what you increase to. What test did you do ? I’m going to do another one in a couple of weeks but the ramp test this time

@@CyclingwithRuss i did the normal ftp test 1.13 . It was brutal. Tomorrow i wil start with the program for 6 weeks.

Maybe your expected new FTP was too high. I think the training totally paid off for you plus considering your Covid. Kudos on your hard effort and accomplishment!!!!

I definitely agree. Expecting to jump to 300-350 from 230ish in only 6 weeks was unrealistic. Nonetheless 30+ watt improvement is still great work for such a short FTP building phase, and you were also coming off an illness. Keep up the great work 👍

Clever pacing. Heartrate: I see a whole section 150-160, and you max "170"? Altough it peaked to 174

My heart rate control wasn’t intentional! I just went as hard as I could for 20 minutes. Looking back now though with some more experience of doing them I think I could have paced it better

with the last 30 seconds you are betraying yourself - you could never do that after 1 hour at 260W
