Bio: Ruslan KD is a Christian KZbinr of Armenian descent who was a refugee from Baku, Azerbaijan, before moving to the United States as a child. He started his KZbin channel in the mid-2010s, which has since grown into a popular platform for discussing faith, lifestyle, and music. Known for his insightful commentary on Christian living, culture, and personal development, Ruslan has built a community of followers who value his thoughtful approach to contemporary issues. In addition to his KZbin presence, Ruslan is a speaker, author, and advocate for godly ambition, often addressing topics related to leadership, mental health, and the integration of faith in everyday life.
Our mission is to encourage, empower, and inspire people to live a life that Blesses God, in accordance with His word. As the Psalmist proclaims, "Bless God in the great congregation, the Lord, O you who are of Israel's fountain" (Psalm 68:26 ESV), and "Every day will I bless Thee; and I will praise Thy name forever and ever" (Psalm 145:2 KJV). Just as Simeon, after encountering Jesus, "took him up in his arms and blessed God" (Luke 2:28 ESV), we seek to lead others in a life of stewardship, relevant engagement, and practical living that honors and blesses the Lord.

This is very fair criticism. He is totally right that the "company" ultimately sets the rules. Personally, i feel like Dallas' answer was a bit of a cop out as he could have easily told the crew "hey you don't have to be Christian to be here, but this is a Christian show with a mostly Christian audience so there are certain political statements you can't make here" and give people the choice to either work there or not.

I do not believe Dallas addressed those Chosen fans who felt ( rightly, I believe ) offended at the flag appearing in promo material of the Chosen show… Instead of defending his work crew standards, his cast or saying the flag was only 3 inches, how about saying 3 little words “ I am sorry “… He can keep all the other stuff just make sure we do not have to see or be impacted by whatever business/ filming decisions that allow secular anti-God sediment to show up on the Chosen show… He defends his decisions and crew but left those who felt offended by the flag ( many who support the show ) in the dust…

@@MA-tq5xz Agreed because that flag covers a whole lot of what the church has been wrestling with recently. Christian businesses are persecuted, sometimes forcefully shut down, under that flag because they don't want to do weddings, etc. that are against their convictions. Pastors are being arrested in Canada for standing up against it. Here in the US a man was arrested for reading a scripture at a pride parade. (later released) That flag covers dra* que** readings at school libraries and sexualized books for children, devastating gender surgeries, biological men in women's bathrooms and in women's sports. And yes even the gospel itself, as some want to force churches to perform same- gender marriages. That flag should not have been allowed. I think the biggest issue with the whole situation was timing. The bts footage dropped right at the start of “pride” month, so it was already in everyone’s face when it was released. The timing is irrelevant. TeChers get fired for talking about Christianity but praised for sexualizing children. This slippery slope lead to a cliff and America dove off. Now a 50/50 morman/Christian take on "jesus" with sexually immoral imagery making published videos and actors defending the lifestyle instead of scripture. We're already well past the point of "If" the "Jesus" on this show says something unbiblical. He already did. I absolutely agree with Shane Idleman on this. The whole affair shows how much "respect" the cameraman has for Dallas and the content of the production. And why insult and bite the hand that feeds you? The cameraman deliberately provokes all donors of the Jesus show - of course mostly Christians - who spend their money (in whatever form) on the show ... including his fee! The cameraman with the Pride flag knew exactly WHAT he was doing and WHERE he was doing it. Dallas' loyalty to him is immeasurable by comparison, and anyone who thinks a little deeper can tell which of the two shows genuine respect and love. In the end it is even good that the differences in values, both human and spiritual, are so clearly shown. However, YHWH (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) is not only the God of love, but also the God of justice and above all of HOLINESS. God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah in the most radical way, and we also know that in human form (Jesus) He could react very radically when His Holiness was mocked or questioned (e.g. the market at the Temple). Propaganda for a sinful life is indefensible. God demands absolute loyalty from his chosen ones - and that includes Dallas with his Jesus Project, after all it's about HIM. YHWH tested Abraham's loyalty to see if he would put HIM - the Creator of all things - above his son Isaac. Maybe Dallas is being tested right now?

I hate to say the disagreement could be is that behind the scenes have always been used for promotions of the film or show to have people come for the next episode or movie. You can allow things but you also have the ability to make everything very neutral on set which in past directors and producers do that to prevent issues in behind the scenes and arguements amongst crew members. Lastly contractors are paid to do a job without their life choices coming into the job so they don’t get choice in displaying their politics.
@ayolovephat

Thank you. People keep pointing out that the cameraman is an independent contractor as if that automatically gives him the right to blaspheme JESUS on the set of a show that portrays HIS life or as if he calls the shots or as if he is not paid for his job like everybody else. Everybody's bodies is theirs, does it mean people should have gone naked on the Chosen set? Abeg let's call a spade and stop defending the untenable. This is why Christianity sometimes seems like a joke to some people. There's love but there's also firmness and clear cut boundaries. That's how following JESUS works. Yeah , but why not not hire these people. Why not search for believers who work hard at their craft. When I was without Christ I thought secular music was better. Then I let it go because of Christ. And find the Christian alternative. I don't think there is a need for working with people that can give a bad light to a ministry. Even a craft. You can have a want. .. but it's not a need. Therefore , one has to face all the dark ,. Pushback that's comes from that want.

It's curious to me that a "pride" flag that appears on set and presumably captured by someone's smartphone, might be considered boycott-worthy, but I've heard nothing similar in regards to Yasmine Al-Bustami who plays Ramah on the Chosen and also plays an openly-lesbian character on NCIS: Hawaii... 🤔 Don't get me wrong, the misappropriation of the rainbow is gross. I'm just not sure I understand why the flag appearing on set (not in an episode) is more egregious than Yasmine Al-Bustami playing an openly-lesbian character on a different show. Can someone explain?

This is how EVERY conversation between believers with different views on various topics should be discussed. And I appreciate even more that Shane is humble about it and even admits that if someone followed him around all day they'd find stuff on him to poke at so he's not jumping on the "anti-Chosen" bandwagon like so many, and he's even complimenting Dallas on his handling of this in the aftermath. All he's saying is that Dallas should've nipped this in the butt sooner and that he believes he did have the right to do/say something about it. I personally side more with Ruslan on this but what Shane is saying is definitely NOT unreasonable. Great conversation!

I got to the point in the video about Ruslan's sound mixer and couldn't even concentrate on the rest of the video. Non-Christian & weed smoking. Cool, let him live his life. Sounds like an opportunity to witness. I personally have friends and family that drink, smoke, are gay, the list goes on. We're all imperfect humans in need of a perfect God. But, man, someone anti-Israel...whew, that's a line I personally wouldn't cross. I understand creatively wanting the best in the business working on your music. But when the Bible shows repeatedly how God deals with people/nations that are against Israel...His chosen people... that's a hard stop for me. But my personal convictions are my own, and I'm not going to force them on anyone else. Otherwise I'm no different than the legalistic, fundamentalist life/people I've walked away from as an adult. (As I sit here wearing pants 🫢🫢, a Recovering Fundamentalist shirt 😂😂, and listening to loud Christian Contemporary Music with lots of drums in it. 🤘🤘) If the Bible doesnt say it's sin, we shouldn't teach it as sin. Period. Buttttt...for me, I'm gonna err on the side of caution and stay away from any resemblance of connection to someone anti-Israel.

With the utmost respect to Pastor Idleman, firstly it’s not a movie, it’s a show lol you’re going to be working with these individuals for YEARS. Additionally, he is a pastor, at a CHURCH that preaches to Christians week in and week out…he shows how much he is out of touch with the everyday life of believers who are out in the field. We’ve seen so many people commenting on this incident. Would love to see some of these same people step up themselves and produce a show depicting the life and teachings of the Messiah. Until then I think it’s fair to take a less critical approach. Again, with respect, it’s the cameraman’s own equipment and he’s clearly not a believer. Why is this such a difficult thing for some?

Respectfully the reason being is that flag covers a whole lot of what the church has been wrestling with recently. A simple code of conduct, which is not at all uncommon for contract work, should have been presented at the beginning of hiring and all of this could have been avoided - while making a real stand for the truth.
@L4tteholic

I understand his criticisms, but this was also the first thing that comes to mind. It's easier to make the rules when everyone agrees (like in church), it's harder when the company is a mix of different beliefs. I think the pastor also said at the end that he'll think about that decision more when he has to cross that bridge. I work in an institution where I'm probably the only practicing Christian out of 50 people in our project. There is also no policy on what someone can or cannot wear. I'm used to seeing the pride flags/stickers all the time and my colleagues know of my 'I need Jesus and coffee' mug. No one is shoving their beliefs on anyone's throat. Regardless we have respectful discussion about the disagreement. But I have to admit it's getting harder and harder to defend my faith when Christians in the news are throwing these friendly fires. It painted different pictures for non-believers about how we treated our own fellow believers, and in extent imagine how they would treat the non-believers...

I agree with Ruslan because its still a tough call. Because are you going to critique everyone that’s apart of your production crew now?? What if someone on your team had a baby out of wedlock and brought that kid to the set? Would you tell him “hey this is a Christian ministry and we can’t have the result of your sin walking on the set” lol We’re all flawed and sin. It wasn’t like they were preaching or conveying a message affirming homosexuality or anything in the Show. if they did THEN you’d have a talking point, but that’s not the story they’re telling.

A human being, irrespective of how (s)he was born, is created in imago DEI (image of GOD). Look in this time, the people u hire could put their beliefs and opinions out there and not care what anyone thinks and even if they know who they’re working for. IMO, because of certain areas like Christianity, they should think about who they hire because of stuff like this. I’m not saying that can’t hire an atheist or someone who has a different religion, but worst case scenario they shouldn’t be 100% surprised about something happening or being brought up that goes against what they value/believe in themselves
