Personally, i'm too dumb to understand Russell a lot...i have listened to quite a few videos of his over the last year even though i can't stand politics and most of it goes over my head with my intense ADD and lack of comprehension, but what i listen to Russell for is his sophisticated, eloquent, colorful, fun personality and ENORMOUS vocabulary and amazing self expression, ( at least that's important to me)...i wish i had the ability to have that phenomenal and profound self-expression...i do not believe he is on drugs now, in fact, he and his family and friends help people to get off drugs...And even though i don't understand or agree with everything Russell says, i like to watch him, although i don't do it much anymore because the politics really bother me...

Similar experience. There was a period not too long ago where he seemed really enlightened and self aware. I actually went to see him and bought a VIP ticket. He did his comedy show first and then came back out afterwards for the VIPs and sat on the edge of the stage and just talked with us. He did this so long that the venue had to ask us to leave the auditorium and he came out to the foyer and spent time with everyone until everyone had enough. I noticed a small change when the right started giving him attention, then a larger change after the allegations came out. This probably isn't good for the mental health of someone in recovery. Russell is at his best when he's on a journey for truth. Once he thinks he's found the truth, he's too hyper focused to the point that it sounds a bit crazed. But I do believe he's genuine. Even if I no longer support his message, he's got enough good will from me that I still have love for him.
