oh wow, this has inspired me to learn and hopefully one day teach sign language. in canada, there's a sign-language restaurant where menus have signs and the workers all depend on sign language to take customer's orders :)

The "It's not all doom and gloom" story is beautiful. My sister was born deaf and we were very lucky to live in a state that had an amazing school for the deaf where she had a great education. Thank you for sharing such touching stories that always restore some of my faith in humanity!

I'm an American since birth. The people that are "stupid" are found in two places, the city and the country. In America, the rich people live about 30-80 Kilometres outside the city because they want more land. Housing in the inner cities go down, poor people move in, who are most likely, stuck in a cycle, and whal-a (is that how it's spelled idk), the stupid bug grows. I live in the 30-80 range, the effects have come. The way to cure it is by actually lerdning something.
