Both my parents are foreign from Asia and South America and I'm a first generation Canadian and proud. This reminds me of when I was kid how my parents despite being from other countries they tried their best to adapt to North American culture in every way. My asian dad used to try and teach me how to play hockey and baseball and introduced me to things like corn dogs and spam (we were poor growing up) and my mom used to make Candy apples and used to use maple syrup on every dessert we had.
