For whatever reason they seem intent on damaging Russ' hall of fame candidacy. He and CP3 have had essentially the same career to an extent. CP3 the better pure point guard and Russ the better overall athlete and impact player. There are all sorts of ways to play the pg position and there is no specific pg model to show, "this is the type of pg you need to win a title" That's the problem i have with the anti-Russ narrative. If no one can win with Russ, who is the opposite of Russ and how many titles does that player have? Well the opposite of Russ is CP3.... Who has one finals appearance and one loss, just like Russ. I don't want to hear the excuse of who CP3 has played with vs who CP3 has played with because we can do the same for Russ. We haven't seen KD do much outside of Golden State and OKC. If D Book wasn't in Phoenix and it was just KD and CP3, do you think they have a win in this series? D Book has been the difference the last two games and was nearly the difference in game one! He's been sensational! We haven't seen Harden do much yet. We haven't seen Beal do much. Bron and AD couldn't stay on the floor for a season and a half. So although Russ has played with great players, more context is required. I will say this for Russ. That happens a lot in the league but you're right, it only becomes news when Russ does it. Just like Skip showing his airball today when even the best shooters shoot airballs from time to time. What Coach Ty Lue is doing is allowing Russell Westbrook to play the game of basketball. You have to take the good with the bad. If you just let Russ play he will be fine. I would like to see Ty Lue go away from starting Zu. Go small but while using wings not guards. Start Morris at the 5, Covington at the 4, Batum at the 3, Powell at the 2, and Russ at the 1..... Run a bench unit with a mixture of Zu/Plum at the 5, a mix of Morris, Batum, and Covington at the 4, Mann at the 3, EG, at the 2, and Bones at the 1..... Russ is known for trying to force feed his bigs....it's where he will typically get 2-4 turnovers. Get the big out of the starting unit for now. The bigs are not giving much value anyway... The Suns shoot the ball and on drives, Zu and Plumlee are not helping much.... Without Kawhi they need to speed up the game and play everyone that's available. With Kawhi The Clippers could afford to play slower and try to win low scoring games...he's efficient and a great defender. Now without the efficiency and the defense, you have to try to out run and out score the slower paced team. Let's see what Ty Lue does? I was actually shocked he started Zu last night. Also what on earth is going on with Batum? Zero points???

I know it sounds crazy but i said this when he was traded to The Lakers. With Bron and Ad missing so many games in 2020/2021 and then AD getting hurt against The Suns in the playoffs, i would have designed a Russell Westbrook style offense as Laker's head coach. I would have implored Bron to not only play more off ball(when he and Russ were on the floor together) but to start reducing his regular season minutes to 28-30 per game. Same when i saw he was choosing The Clippers over The Bulls. First thing i said was, "take Zu out as a starter and go small, play 5 out" You can still play Zu but more with the reserves and in more of the minutes that Russ isn't on the floor. Russ is great at getting his bigs buckets but if a big is in the middle, Russ will tend to turn the ball over a bit more trying to feed them and he will tend to play more hesitant, rather than just attacking the rim and looking to score. If you are going to play a 5 with Russ as the pg, your defense has to be outstanding. I never thought The Clippers had an outstanding defense. It's up to Coach Ty Lue. Wait for Kawhi or change the damn offense to suit Russell Westbrook!

I'm not sure he will choose to return to L.A if once again the top two players can't stay on the court but Russ is forced to play in their offense? There are two teams that are better suited to Russ' game because they have both have spacing 5's, and can run a 5 out scheme. The Bulls and The Wizards. LaVine and DeRozan are big time and i think Pat Bev would probably return if Russ went there, plus Coach Billy Donovan probably understands Russell Westbrook more than any other head coach(except for Scotty Brooks) The team i believe he should choose though is The Washington Wizards. With Portzingis, Kuzma, and Beal, Russ would have 3 very good offensive weapons to feed and he can be more facilitator. I'm not sure about the head coach however? Ty Lue is a lot like Billy Donovan, so he's perfect for a player like Russ. I don't know if the current Wizards head coach has that type of coaching mentality? If i'm Russ' agent i ask him to think long and hard about what's most important to him and i wait to see what The Clippers do with Ty Lue. If Ty Lue is released, Russ should get the heck up out of there...
