Some Observations looking Westbrooks career overtime: Brodie makes game easy for all and brings best from the other player. His teaming up with Victor Oladipo after KD left. Victor became a high caliber player and got max contract in Indiana after playing All star level with Westbrook. Then came amazing duo of Westbrook and PG. PG came 2nd in MVP voting that year when he played with Westbrook. Then Westbrook teamed up with Harden and both went to 2nd round of the playoff. Westbrook then played with Bradley Beal and Beal came into MVP consideration after that. Beal's one of the best year was with Westbrook. Then Westbrook played in LA Clippers and played hard in playoffs. He only stumbled in LA Lakers coz of Lebron. Now he's showing great game again in Denver. Some more points to consider: Every Centre got a better deal after playing with Westbrook. Steven Adams Zubac got good deal Rui Hachimura got recognized by LA lakers after playing with Westbrook in Washington. He just makes everyone better.

@@davidfarr9678 It's not a joke, he's has a 70+% win rate when he records a triple-double so it's not empty stats, his numbers effect winning. It's true, all these players got recognition after playing with Westbrook, Sabonis played with him in OKC, look at him now. He has his lapses in decision making but ultimately he makes his teammates better, especially the younger guys with unestablished roles they know Westbrook will reward his effort. This season with Russ will definitely have a positive effect on guys like Braun, Strawther & Watson. Westbrook sets an example for how to approach the competition, he doesn't miss games and his effort is unquestionable.

The reason people bring up the lakers, is because the media and a lot of Lebron fans blamed Russ as to the reason why the lakers struggled. Yeah even when he was not having a good time with the Lakers he always put in effort, so many players are casual about their win / loss records so long as they put up decent individual scores but Russ always cares, even when his teams clearly losing you get maximum effort from him. I really respect the effort he puts in. His drive to win has clearly had a big impact on the Nuggets. What helps Russ so much is his teammates are willing to give you the room he need to lead, I think that was the biggest issue Russ had in the Lakers, Jokic is happy to let Russ lead by example because Russ is a more experienced player, Jokic has no ego at all, hes happy to allow Russ to drive the Nuggets and dictate the speed. I don't think Jokic has really found himself as a leader yet, his skill has been enough to command the respect of his team but hes not the forward facing emotional player the Nuggets needed to give them winning energy. Russel is a great fit I hope he stays for several years.

During his MVP season I was supposedly a "hater" for pointing out how high his usage and his turnover rate were, and that he wasn't playing winning ball. Then talk radio and the average dumb sports fan did a 180 and completely disregarded Russ, probably because of LeRoids and his LeNarrative, and shit all over him like he's not an all time great talent (flawed or no) Thank goodness hes with a team (especially a smart coach) so he can play and be where he belongs - giving people that work, and being in a position to lean on his skills and succeed instead of being in a position to fail and look bad doing it

Been a Westbrick hater since they kept him instead of Harden in okc but I like humble Russ. Always thought he played a very selfish brand of bball.
