this is big since Murray is fragile almost every season. this will give them a breather but still competitive.

Murray missed 20-25 games last year and they almost finished 1st. All Russ has to do is be better than Reggie Jackson as backup BUT most importantly the reason why he was brought (anyone can fit as 5th player with starters even Justin Holiday) in: he has to take charge of the 2nd unit which has been horrible for 5 years when Jokić is resting. They were -9 last season when he was on bench , that is horrible compared to every top 10 players in league. If he can just help the 2nd unit be -3 next season (not talking break even) that will be a huge benefit that brings more wins. Russ is not going to mess up replacing Murray for the 12 games he'll miss this season. But everything depends on the non Jokić minutes and the bench in general.
