Russ of course No mvp singlehandedly destroyed the whole team a year ago and get awarded for the mvp Esp after rockets needs to get new coach, new teammates and new system to clean up harden's mess. It is why rockets are building the team around d'antoni system rather than harden as harden's selfish isolation style has proven to be biggest failure which he got his coaches fired in 11 games, made all his teammates into scrubs in their career low and pushed them out of town one by one. Harden is now simply a product of d'antoni, which it is why d'antoni deserves the coty for turning the rockets season around and cleaning up harden's mess. Mvp stands for the most valuable player, not most delusional player like harden who self proclaiming himself being the best player of the world when he still can't play any D and also being all time worst turnover machine and flopper.

It amazes me how people can be so stupid with the rebounds. They box out for Russ to get the rebounds to let Russ start the breakaway. Why waste a few seconds to have Steven Adams to catch and pass to Russ? Russ on the break is gonna out run pretty much everyone and ignite the offense. An offense with no shooters, which is why the fast break is so key for the thunder. Also if you watch the thunder games it is by design for one of the power forwards to almost "cherry pick" so Russ can get a long outlet pass. The team is winning so why does it matter how he gets the rebounds. Especially if it is helping the team.

Rebounding is not done individually, it's done as a team, so of course steven adams has to box out, which he's GOOD at, allowing the thunder to be dominate on the boards in general. That said, russ obviously gets some easy rebounds like all bigs, but he also rebounds OVER bigs all the time too.

Harden's last season stats are almost identical to this season and only off by 2 pts in scoring, 1 reb and almost 5 assist per game from the 2014-2015 season. Due to the fact the last 2 seasons and this current season Harden's stats are almost identical, the newly acquired players and MDA offensive style of play are the reason for Houston success this season.

But if I recall, Adrian Peterson won the MVP back in 2013 after rushing for 2097 yds, not to mention he didn't break Eric Dickerson's record, with a record of 10-6, barely getting into the playoffs after having to beat Green Bay the last game of the year.
