I wish we could see if they're typing. Not see what they type but just see that they're actually engaging with each other.

That's a great suggestion; having the ability to see if students are typing would provide valuable insights into their engagement during breakout room sessions.

Russell, thank you for all your videos. I have a number of confused students on Zoom who cannot cope with the new 'green pencil' annotation icon on the shared screen. I can assure you that I have all the relevant settings on my zoom account but occasionally we hit problems, especially with sts who are not very computer-literate. Do you have a video showing how to manipulate that tool? From finding the icon in the bottom left hand corner of the screen to opening the tool bar to then choosing the pencil/text/ etc.

Thank you for your support, and I'll consider creating a tutorial to help students navigate the new 'green pencil' annotation tool in Zoom for smoother interactions

thank you for your prompt response. In the meantime, I have a sneaking suspicion that the student in question hasn't downloaded zoom and I was wondering whether restricting access to annotation was one of zoom's less endearing ways of encouraging people to create accounts. Would you happen to have heard anything about that? @@ttvRussell

True, but it's not very different than teachers walking around the room and checking in on groups.
