I the late 80's a Soviet journalist was invited to the US for a visit. After some time host asked the guest what he thought of the US. He was expecting to hear praise of freedom but rather shocked when the guest said: "I didn't expect so much propaganda in the US." BUT, the host argued: "Don't you have more propaganda in the Soviet Union?" Yes - the guest replied - but nobody believes it.

Between 2006 and 2016, I used to spend a lot of time travelling around East Asia. Mainly Japan and China. And even then, I used to read constantly in Japanese newspapers that China was trying to gradually pivot to domestic consumers. It wasn't covert - it was an open plan. First they had to increase the wealth of the general working person, and they have succeeded in that aim. Now their products are affordable to their own people, they don't have to kow-tow to the West to get customers. So none of this is new - but current events have made the issue that much more important. The West loves to use sanctions as a tool to discipline non-aligned countries. But we are at the point where China could sanction us! They don't need us like they used to, but our economies would fall apart without their products, and their money.

DID YOU THINK WESTERN COLONIALISM WAS OVER? The United States has strategically engaged in promoting "color revolutions," fueling regional tensions, and initiating military conflicts in the name of democracy, freedom, and human rights. By holding onto Cold War ideologies, the United States has intensified bloc politics, escalating conflicts and confrontations. It has expanded the definition of national security, misused export regulations, and imposed unilateral sanctions on other nations. The United States has shown a preference for selective adherence to international laws and regulations, applying or disregarding them based on its own interests, and attempting to enforce regulations that benefit its agenda under the guise of upholding a "rules-based international order."

Putin explained in a 2023 conference how leaving Russia out of the Swift banking system forced them to overcome this by developing own credit card system for domestic needs, and leading to the BRICS coalition settling much of their trades in local currencies. So exposed to hardship they developed solutions that made them stronger overall. It repeats in many areas. Import/Export restrictions on electronic hardware leads to own development/production; Forced to defend against billions of dollars of proxy force weaponry trained Russia the hard way to become a more hardened and skilled military. The "by-the-west-taken-advantage-of Ukranians" became training collateral in the most tragic context.

33:44 the Nordstream pipeline has not been "blown to bits"! Here he's talking about first steps for recovering the trade relationship between Europe and Russia. It would seem a logical first step would be to open up the part of Nordstream pipeline (one of the 2 pipes) that is not damaged. That would cost Russia nothing and I think they would do it. The thing is, that would indicate a huge political change from the current European Outlook. A positive political change to be sure!

Salam Nima, I hope you’re doing well. I watch your channel quite regularly, and enjoy listening and learning from your guests. I would like to make a few observations if you don’t mind. Please don’t take them in a negative way, rather take them as positive criticism. Please don’t get me wrong I do like your channel. Please employ the art of follow up questions in your interviews. I feel that it is something seriously lacking in your programs. Let me elaborate a little as to what I mean. Often times a guest of yours would say something quite serious or dramatic but not fully explaining what he meant. After hearing them say that, the viewers would be really wanting to know what they actually meant, in other words, wanting a bit more information/explanation about it. In most cases, the host would ask a follow up question saying something like, “ what did you mean by that/in what way/ you just said xyz could you please shed some more light on it/you just highlighted the danger of this happening, how do you think it could be avoided etc etc etc. These are just a few examples of a follow up question, but there can be many other ways of asking a follow up question for further explanation/clarification. The way you conduct the interview my friend, is in a very robotic way. It is almost as though you don’t really pay attention to what the guest is saying, and you have already decided in your mind that I’m just going to let the guest finish, and then I’m going to ask him a question about Ukraine or Gaza, or any other thing which you have already decided. You don’t interact with your guest, you just ask a set of questions which you have already decided, and then robotically ask them one after the other. Many times if you pay close attention to your guests, you will realise that a new question would be born out of what your guest just said. And that’s called a follow up question. I would strongly recommend you to watch Judge Napolitano’s interviews to see what I mean by follow up questions. If you were to include that into your interviews, your interviews would become a lot more interesting and fun to watch. It would seem that you are not just going through the motions robotically and asking a set of questions which you have already written down or decided in your mind. It’s a bit like suppose, one of your guests something dramatic like he thinks that world war 3 in a few months because of Ukraine. And instead of asking a follow up question on such a dramatic statement, you would be like, “ how do you see the situation developing in Gaza / the protest movement on the U.S college campuses “ ? Your program would become more attractive if it gives the viewers a feeling of a human interaction between two people instead of a robotic going through the motions. I hope you take it as a positive feedback. I wish you all the best, and success for the future of your show. Khuda Hafiz

Excellent video. Superficial comment perhaps but traditional Leninist communism seemed correct to see 'the state' as subservient to the capitalist class and acted on its behalf - so political analysis started from that premise. Current events, Tony's comments (and perhaps the WW1 citation?) seem to directly contradict this. Perhaps this is function of change in nature of capitalism itself?
