Not Cut Out for Real Warfare: German Marder IFVs Exposed As Weak, Unfit for Battlefield - According to a recent article in the National Interest publication, Ukraine has turned into a “dumping ground” or junkyard for the West's weaponry. Moreover, Russian officials have repeatedly cautioned that Western arm supplies to the Kiev regime would only escalate the conflict and in no way would it slow down Moscow's special military operation.
Western arms supplied to Ukraine have become prized trophies for Russian soldiers and provide a great amount of valuable technical information for Russian scientists and engineers who meticulously study the samples gathered on the battlefield.

So far 140 Marders have been supplied from reserve after being recommissioned to Ukraine so not exactly cutting edge technology.

I changed the battery on my Mercedes and cursed its creators with the most terrible curses because to replace the battery in the car, you need to disassemble and remove the front passenger seat. And so it is with the Germans in everything and always. Everything is very well done, but specialists and special workshops are needed for repairs, and in combat conditions all this is sometimes hundreds of kilometers away from you. They say that to repair the transmission in the notorious Tiger tank, it was necessary to dismantle the tank's turret, and it weighed 11 tons! Well, now do you understand why the Germans lost to the Russians in that war? In particular, because the T-34 could be assembled from pieces of other T-34s scattered on the battlefield in just an hour. This is, of course, an exaggeration, but the meaning is clear - it's interesting to see what's inside the Marder, but such an inspection may not give practical results at all. A bucket on tracks, it is also in Africa - a bucket on tracks.

The Marder 1A3 does not contain any modern technology that does not already exist in Russia. At best, it is possible to find out how strong the Marder would really have been before the fall of the Berlin Wall if the Cold War had turned into a hot war. In retrospect, this allows Russia to determine whether the assessments were correct. The Mader 1A5, or 1A5A1 would be interesting, as they carry new sensor technology, armor, jammers and optics, but these were not passed on to Ukraine. I believe that Germany will not supply the most modern weapons, with the possible exception of the self-propelled howitzer, precisely because the vehicles can inevitably be captured intact by Russian soldiers.
