More importantly, Ukraine was the arms producer for the U.S.S. R. and joint ventures with South Korean arms manufactures will be part of winning the peace. South Korea provides the knowledge and Ukraine provides the cheap labor. Very attractive for European countries that are rearming because of Russia and are a little short on the Arms industry. Ukraine built almost all of the turbines used in jets and helicopters for the U.S.S.R. and the Moskva and Admiral Kuznestov carrier. About half of the Russian navy. I don't think Ukraine will be building ships for Russia anymore. Those things will be very handy in Western Europe. I read that the current Ukrainian arms industry is only about a quarter utilized. Ukraine just doesn't have the money to order arms from its own companies. With enough cash, Ukraine really doesn't need much in the way of arms donations. They already make about 10 self propelled howitzers per year, which is more than a major country like France does. I understand that it is pretty good.
@MarkDalbey-rh9lc3 ай бұрын
Just this week Russian propaganda touted a major breakthrough in gas turbines for powerplants. The thing is this turbine is a modernization of a turbine originally built in Ukraine. It seems that all Russia can do is modernize something that was already built by somebody else. They make very little from scratch. When they run out of Soviet tanks to update, they will be building very few tanks. They have already run out of Soviet shells. Now they have to get their shells from North Korea, which are not very good. Recently North Korea shelled an island. Half of their shells missed a whole island. Of the half that actually hit the island, half of them were duds.
