Rd 33 is not a engine for 5th gen and they are only giving 58℅ tech keeping critical tech. To themselves nobody will provide us full tech we have to do it ourselves.

Engine model: RD-33 ; Take-off rating (dry):, 49.4 kN (11,110 lb) D ; Take-off rating (wet):, 81.4 kN (18,300 lb) W. Why we need this we can use the KAVARI engine - Kaveri 1.0 can generate a 48 kN dry engine thrust, and with an established afterburner, it is expected to reach 73-75 kN - actually not sufficient for powering any single engine fighter today including the LCA-TejasMk1A fleet. Kaveri 2.0 may perhaps generate 83 Kn thrust and dry thrust of 53kn. The AL-51F-1 offers a dry thrust of 108 kN and an afterburner thrust of 167 kN, making it an ideal candidate for high-performance combat aircraft. India need to try get this engine.

RD33 and RD93 used in MIG29. That's available with us. We can update them receiving technology. China's J17 also have got same engines. So India is now developing very fast

RD-33 is not 5th generation but it is given on condition of licence production, this is basically the engine for Mig-29 , so Russia wants India to produce this engine for foreign countries those that are using Mig-29 and the Chinese JF-17 also for HALE Drones , please be informed and not spread misinformation, please Amber Ji ,also Mr Agarwal is not an expert on technologies so don't bring him on your forum for defence related discussions.

Now you’re hyping up the RD-33, an engine so outdated it should come with a coal mine sponsorship, and pretending it’s some technological marvel. Let me spell it out for you-Russia is offering India the RD-33 not as an upgrade, but as a way to offload old stock and turn India into a repair shop for Soviet-era MiG-29s. Congratulations on becoming Russia’s junkyard mechanic! And then you tried to drag the JF-17 Thunder into this? Please, do your homework first. The JF-17 never even used the RD-33-it uses the RD-93, which was customized for single-engine platforms. But here’s the real kicker-Pakistan has already moved past the RD-93 and upgraded to advanced Chinese engines for its Block-3 JF-17s. Even older Block-1 and Block-2 models are being retrofitted with these engines, leaving India to tinker with smoke-belching antiques and act like it’s building the future. And let’s talk about that future, shall we? While India is daydreaming about exporting Tejas-a plane that can’t even integrate its foreign parts properly-Pakistan has already moved to 5th-generation aircraft with the JF-35/FC-35 from China and is finishing its own 5th-generation stealth fighter project, the 'Azm.' That’s right-while India is busy begging the U.S. for the F-35 and getting rejected, Pakistan is already developing its own stealth fighter. Oh, and now you’re suggesting the RD-33 for HALE drones? Really? A smoke-spewing engine on a drone that’s supposed to be stealthy? That’s like putting neon lights on a submarine and hoping no one notices. Genius strategy-I’m sure enemy radars will be too busy laughing to track it. And let’s not forget-you can’t seem to swallow the fact that the JF-17 is 65% made in Pakistan. That’s right-designed, built, and integrated in Pakistan, while India’s Tejas is still playing musical chairs with parts from four different countries that can’t even talk to each other. Meanwhile, Pakistan is flying 120+ JF-17 Thunders-already combat-proven-and moving full speed ahead with 5th-gen fighters, while India is stuck in PowerPoint presentations about the AMCA for the last 20+ years. So before you accuse others of 'misinformation,' maybe take a hard look at your own defense circus. The rest of the world sees through the smoke-literally and figuratively.

tejas ko 90 kn thrust engine tou AMCA ko minimum 115 kn thrust engine chahiye so RD-33 engine siraf tejas ke liye sahi hai par 80 kn thrust produce karne wala kaveri jet engine na tejas ke kam ka hai aur na AMCA ke......baki russia 100% technology ke sath apna RD-33 engine pehle hi india ko de chuka hai aur ab dec 2024 se odisha ke kalahandi area se india RD-33 ki production kar raha hai.😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

As Kaveri is more or less finalized for productivity, we shall not be surprised with GE and US/Russia getting agreed for tech transfer etc etc. Earlier govt should have realized the profitability, supremacy and defence readiness which can be achieved through the defence industry establishment

Significant funding is required for R&D. It makes no sense to depend on other countries and pay exorbitant prices. Engine development requires billions of dollars of funding. A mere Rs 2000 crores is not enough.

Pehla - Galatfahmi AMCA ke liye RD33 engine offer Russia dwara Kaveri development ko target karke nehi kiya gaya . Russia ne target kiya American GE F414 ko. Kyunki, RD33 hum yahan Bharat mein already istemaal karte hai apni MiG29UPG fighters pe aur RD33 ke latest version abhi Bharat mein hi bante hai - ye last couple of years mein deal sign hua tha MiG29UPG ka engine overhaul ke liye. Toh MiG29 fighter jet ke alternatives ya rival hai American F16 aur F18 . Jinme se F18 twin engine plane hai aur GE F414 ko use karte hai. Toh jaise ki GE F414 abhi ke liye selected engine hai AMCA Mk1 5th Gen fighters ke liye, toh Russia bhi apni offer yahan de diya - aur jaise RD33 already Bharat mein licensed production hone wali hai toh, GE F414 ka Indian production kyun zarurat hai - ye hai Russian logic . Dusri galat fahmi, Space launch engines aur Jet engines ek nehi hai, alag hai. Space engines pure chemical thrust based hoti hai, Jet engines air breathing mechanical thrust based hoti hai . Jahan Chemical thrust ko propellant ke hisab se pura bahar feka jaata hai , air breathing thrust engine ke core mein high temperature fluid flow taiyar karta hai constant atmospheric flight ke liye . Toh jet engine ki internal core long service ke liye durable honi chahiye, Space flight jaisa one mission use nehi . So, its not comparable , neither easy. Predictions : MiG29 ki engine ko lekar AMCA ki dal nehi galne wali , ye haqiqat hai. Hum Russia se kuch aur maang rahe hai , lekin Russia bina orders ke kuch nehi dene wala. Hum maang rahe hai AL51 core , also known as Izdeliye 30 HPC . Ye true 5th Generation flight engine hai , lekin iske liye humein Su75 ko done deal karni padegi . Dusri taraf, Trump ka vapas aana ek nayi frontier khol di. Trump ji businessman leader hai, hamare Modi ji jaisa aur Putin aggressive management hai . Toh Trump ki sidhi baat ye hogi , ya tum Arab se tel lo ya tum America se defence equipment lo . Haan manhoos Biden ne galat kiya lekin galti sudharne ka mauka doh , dosti majboot karo . Agar tum Russia se lagatar tel lete ho, toh humse fighter planes aur engine jet deals permanent karlo. Toh yahan hum US drones ko lenge aur engines pe focus karenge. Kyunki F35 ke siwa India ke paas saare highly localised alternative fighters service mein hai . Hamare MiG29 aur F16, F18 similar category mein hai. Hamare Su30Mki aur F15SE similar category mein hai . Toh humein zarurat hai F35 jaise plane ka , jiska somewhat alternative abhi ke liye Rafale F3R hai. Lekin F35 costly hai, maintenance agar jor le toh ye unaffordable hai - iske alternative Su75 kafi sasti hone wali hai kyunki heavily localised production aur development offer pe hai. Toh USA ke liye option jo rehenge , woh hai perfectly steady supply of GEF404 and F414 for Tejas Mk1A and Mk2 . Ye purely volume business rehega. Aur GE ke saath milke ek sixth Generation nayi engine development - jisko AMCA Mk2 mein hum use kar payenge. Waise Trump office mein aane ke baad GE ko kadi thappad padni wali hai delays ke liye - its not good for business. Kya malum GE ko apni business mein koi Indian business house ko partner banana padhe 😅😅😅, kya malum kuch corruption charges, tax evasion ki file wahan US mein khul jaye GE ke khilaf aur GE bankruptcy declare karde . Anyway , Russia pehle se samajh jata hai . Chessmasters jo hai . Toh AMCA Mk1 ka engine koun supply karega - abhi ke liye toh GE F414 hi rehega , ho sakta hai, AMCA ke liye engine ka dry output enhance karle . Magar Su75 ko bhi hum apne bede mein samil karle toh AL51 compact version bhi available ho sakti hai wahi AMCA ke liye. Kyunki ek baat pe hum saare agree hote hain - IAF squadron strength is in RED zone . Replacement hi khatam nehi ho raha hai, force ko multiply kaise kare ? Toh humein, Tejas bhi chahiye, AMCA bhi chahiye, F35 ya Su75 koi bhi chalega , magar chahiye. Aur engine ke mamle mein, Kaveri ko future Tejas aur Tejas Mk1A supply runs ke liye taiyar karna hai . Ek true 110kn 5th Generation engine develop ya tech transfer chahiye. Sirf AMCA Mk1 nehi, ORCA aur TEDBF bhi hai - Su30Mki ko jitna bhi upgrade karlo 2040 se woh MiG21 category mein aane wala hai. Russia missed an excellent opportunity for hooking India into Su 57 program, thanks to the problems in FGFA program. Now, RD 33 engine is being offered but India would not be interested as our negotiations are in far advanced stages with France and UK. Russian engines are not on par with the US or French engines in terms of technology and efficiency. Overall, Russia had an excellent opportunity in avionics with India for defense and civilian applications but it messed up. Pakistan will not be able to fly its any aircraft, whether 3rd or 4th or 5th generation, if it comes to war with India, thanks to India's missile power. Let us be sure about it. BTW, GTRE has been there since Kaveri program started in 80s. It is not something new.

by the time India will make its first Squadron of Amca. Pakistan will have 3 different types of fifth Gen fighter jets ( JF17 PFX, J35 and Kaan) and will be in talks for export version of Gen Six fighter jet of China

RD 33 is a smoky engine used on Mig 29. New Sukhoi engines are called Saturn AL 41 F1S engine with 142.2 KN Thrust. We shoulx see if rhis size and weight for Tejas. Further, RD 33 is used by Pakistani JF 17.

Modified RD33.. with modern materials (which were developed for AL51 engine).. Russia isoffering that enhanced thrust and low radar signature Rd33 to India for AMCA..also its being said to have 5000+ hours of lifehours

Best Bet for AMCA: • Short Term: The GE F414 is currently the most viable option due to its readiness, proven performance, and ongoing collaboration under the Make in India framework. • Long Term: If the Izdeliye 30 becomes operational with full technological transfer, it would be the ideal choice due to its superior thrust, stealth features, and compatibility with fifth-gen requirements. • Not Recommended: The AL-51 F-1 and RD-33 are outdated for a fifth-gen fighter like AMCA, lacking the thrust and stealth capabilities required. Strategically, opting for GE F414 initially while pursuing co-development of an Izdeliye 30-based indigenous variant ensures a balance between operational readiness and technological self-reliance.

GE इंजन देने का वादा किया है परन्तु सीमित संख्या में 404 इंजन ही देना स्वीकार किया है। 2025 मार्च से जितने इंजन वह देनेवाला है उससे हमारा काम नहीं चल पायेगा। तेजस एमके 2 और एमका के लिए 414 इंजन चाहिए और जीई ने उसके लिए कोई आश्वासन नहीं दिया है कि फलां समय से 414 इंजन देगा । भारत को अनिश्चितता से बाहर निकलने के लिए कोई ठोस स्टेन्ड लेना चाहिए।

As per my knowledge; Russian Engines are not so sophisticated and not long lasting as compared to US engines? That is why, we have not opted for Russian engines for all these years. Please clarify.
