If this thing was equipped with night vision, heavier armor, and was a part of a more robust network secured network it could be viable deeper in the future. However, there are way too many things that could shred it up on the battlefield currently. On top of that, Russian fighting doctrine is very topdown. Individual units are not trained to take the initiative freely as something like this could provide for. In other words, if command doesn’t adapt quickly in utilizing them then they could end up being sitting ducks for artillery in between missions.

There is nothing special about the M1 Abrams nor Leopard 2. They will get destroyed in the face of high-tech Russian atgms, just as US "Uranium" Abrams were destroyed in Iraq by dated sometimes improvised weapons, IEDs, EFPs, RPG-29s, and Leopard 2s were destroyed in Syria. It does not even matter if US is giving the Ukrainians M1 Abrams with the latest armor modifications. Appears this is barely out of testing phase, range of 9.3 miles is about the same as a standard soviet made artillery system. How will this technologically advanced system undergo maintenance and how will crews obtain spare parts on the battlefield? Simply they won't. Just like the "terminator" systems this will have little to no impact in the fight, especially not against some of the systems within the Leopard 2 and M1's. This robot will be blown into a million pieces before it will even get a chance to spot a western tank, not to mention fire it's weapons. Sticks out like a sore thumb and will need open areas to locate targets, even a drone would be deadly for this thing. Curious how many were even made.

An anti-tank missile can kill an Abram. Therefore a unmanned vehicle launching them is a threat. I doubt tho, that they do have many of those vehicles. They also seem to be slow and only lightly armored yet expensive. Germany uses theirs to evacute wounded soldiers and to clear mines. It seems silly to use such a machinery at the frontline, when it can be taken out by even a heavy machine gun...

On another YT site they were saying that these robots were approximately 3 -5 tonnes in weight. So they can't have much armour protection. With that low an armour thickness they will be susceptible to machine gun fire. A reasonable sniper will be able to disable them. With the interlinked systems NATO has a sniper team could locate and laser designate it, while sending it's co-ordinates to artillery or tank fire or even Air Support. Might be good of reconnaissance or troop supply, but it may not be great for proper tactical use

This is the funniest thing I've seen all morning. Russia can't produce new tanks in numbers to replace their losses so far. Why are they diverting advanced imaging and electronics to a less capable platform? At least with an upgraded T-72 or T-90, Ukrainian forces have to resort to a Javelin or a Tank of their own to counter. This thing could be taken out with an RPG, AT-4, or an autocannon mounted on an IFV. I'll be so bold as to predict 3 of these are going to end up as smoking wrecks in their first engagement and the fourth will have never left the line due to electronic malfunctions.

UGV's aren't new, and these (in particular) were showcased years ago by Russia. The reason why you don't see many of them, is that many of them are still somewhere in the R&D phase. They aren't "proof of concepts" anymore, and they aren't necessarily "prototypes", either. But there isn't many of them, production capacity has never full matured (For Russia or the US). (notice how they haven't deployed these to Ukraine, yet. Why haven't they? Ukraine had other tanks that this could've been taken out, for a long time, and yet... Russia decided not to employ these in the initial invasion? 🤔 ... See the problem?) In short, if Russia is going to put these on the battlefield, now, it's more of a sign of desperation. It's a novel military solution. And while it may be effective in combat (this remains to be seen), there still won't be many of them at all. It will be rare to even encounter one (they don't have many, and many of the components needed i.e. for the advanced sensors - are difficult for Russia to get, because of the sanctions). It's something "new" (to the common observer), something flashy, but in the end, as of now, it is nothing more than a "wunderwaffe".

Sanctions only works if you want to cripple a population. Sanctions don't work on governments. North Korea is your best example. Every government can get what it needs on the black market or via loopholes. So I wouldn't take anything for granted because you never know what they're be doing behind the scenes. Iran is supplying Russia on a regular basis. Everyone thinks it's just drones because that's what they hear in the media. But do we really know what's in those planes? I'm sure we don't.

The Russians aren't the ones losing ground, so I don't see them as desperate by any measure. But I assume every one of Putin's lieutenants wants to put their best foot forward and show they're coming up with new solutions. This is what space guy came up with. In the longer term future, I don't see why unmanned vehicles won't take over in every sphere (air-land-sea), since they're totally expendable without concerns for lives lost or POW hostages -- and in theory they should be able to continue improving until they've surpassed human performance by significant margins.

The next World War probably won't use any armaments. Cyber attack. You'll lose power, internet, radio, phones and most people will have no idea what is happening. Then the food will start to run out and the water supply will stop, manufacturing will stop, no fuel supplies so no transport and people will start fighting each other as the economy reverts back a couple of hundred years but with a much bigger modern population that is unsustainable.
