The oil spill response is what I would expect from a very poor country like Haiti perhaps. The difference though is that many countries would send help because it is in every ones interest to limit the damage. In this case no one will send assistance because Russia is rich enough to do this themselves and Russia wouldn't accept any assistance anyway.

You ask me to give the 3 most interesting parts of your stories. Coming at the of the video I have a problem remembering all the details you provided. I know you must make choices. I know if politicians would think like you problems would be solved quickly. Unfortunately, in general politicians are corrupt, incompetent, lazy and narcissistic causing even more problems and escalating them making this world a nightmare for the righteous people, it seems politicians getting jealous wanting to get rid of the righteous in the most despicable ways possible, bullying them by sabotage making their efforts worthless. I tend to forget the details, but I really like you give special attention to this small things you cannot find in general journalism. I pray for you and your family mate you keep doing well and go strong. I am very happy you recovered from Bels Palsy. The fight you are delivering is Nobel. You're entitled to the Nobel price for peace and making people understand difficult situations and what's their cause. No politician can really solve problems. Great episode, starting with one of the most arresting phrases I have ever heard about current-day Russia: ‘Stalin keeps resurrecting’. What a summary. And then it just kept getting wilder - factual, but wilder nonetheless, from polygamy to cucumbers, and back to . . . the resurrection of Stalin (Well, vampires are immortal, aren’t they?). And . . . well, the one note of hope here, the volunteers trying to clean up the mess, with no help from government. The hope of Russia is with those volunteers. They are the bricks with which a future Russia could be built. Dominus tecum et Carthago delenda est.

Thanks Konstantine. It really helps to know what is going on. I remember the oil spill in Santa Barbara, California back in 1969. What a smelly ugly toxic mess. Oil is a toxic preservative that will last a really long time. There was a problem with one of the oil wells off the coast. They brought hay bales to soak up what they couldn't get other ways. I think cleanup methods have improved some in the west. Helping the birds would involve removing the oil and the caring them for months because the natural waterproofing in their feathers is gone. Again, what a smelly ugly toxic mess. How do Russian people stay sane with all the chaos?

I'm usually not one for saying "he brought the disaster on himself", but oh boy, it's so true in this case. It's the Russian ability to live totally outside the reality. Like, their government saw some American military officers getting drunk while visiting Moscow, so they think the American army is weak and decadent, and can't be bothered to look up the fact that those officers were fired afterwards and most of the others are fairly disciplined. But Konstantin lives in the reality.

The REALLY stupid thing about the "burial" of the spilled oil, is the use of plastic bags to carry it. Funny thing about plastic bags - they dissolve if you use the right solvent. The right solvent? AND YET: exports to India and China and elsewhere!! What about Russian navy ships? The Black Sea navy collapsed! Maritime incompetence seems to be at the level of the Luxemburg navy!! The latter is non-existant. I saw the videos of the dolphins!!! Super criminal!! Where are the videos of televised court hearings of the captains, of the ship's owners, of the pilot ??? Where are the insurance companies, the local governors, the mayors? Where is Putin admitting it is all his fault??
