That's why their R sounds kinda like L. So yes, I was wrong. To cheer you up: I myself struggled with Russian R when I was 6. And (almost?) all Russian kids can't say it until they are 3 or 4 yo :)))

love these vids. I am an American English speaker, and currently learning both Japanese and Russian. i dunno what frightens me more, the way that Russian words look, or Japanese Kanji lmao. I am going to be learning both simultaneously every couple videos. I just started learning Russian the other day ( 11/13/22 ) and I find it challenging. @@Mika.mizuki Many words from different languages sound the same, oppa in Korean is older brother. And oppai is *cough* mommy milkers. Such like how Americans thought 那个 (nàgè) sound like the n-word but it means "that" or "that one". Some words in English decended from the French. A lot of Asian culture and language are similar to one another. Like how every martial arts are basically decended from Kung Fu but just varies in style and movement. Japanese have similar characters to the Chinese and Korean.
