Russia Studies Captured Storm Shadow Missile, Trains Soldiers to Hit US Abrams Weak Spot In Ukraine

Russia has acquired the warhead of a British Storm Shadow cruise missile allowing its military to improve defences against the weapon in Ukraine. A man said to be a weapons engineer wearing camouflage and a balaclava can be seen inspecting the warhead in a video published by Russia. The weapons engineer also said a detailed study of fuse schemes and warhead design of Storm Shadow missiles is currently underway. Russian military pulled out almost an entire British Storm Shadow cruise missile from the warzone. Watch the video to find out more.

They don't really need to. The Russians can build whatever they want, but that doesn't mean they want to just copy western weapons. They have their own doctrines and tactics, and that means they build different weapons. What is more important is that they know how the missile work (guidance, propulsion, movement, warhead) and so they can decide counter measures. Like if you know what kind of chips, antenna, power supply etc. in the guidance system computer, you will know what kind of communication protocols, the radio power output/input, then you can create a way to jam it more efficiently. That will render the storm shadow pretty much useless.

its the techniques used in them to avoid defenses that is the prize here e.g. a smart missile that zigzags as it approaches its target to avoid AA defenses...if you can decrypt the algorthm for that zigzagging, you can shoot it down 100% of the time as you knows its trajectory/flight path

The UK's DragonFire laser is where the future lies. Apart from Nuclear weapons which were given to Russia by German scientists at the end of the WW 2. The military cant and will never compete with the Western world technology. Its embarrassing how many Russian air defence have been destroyed even with cheap drones.
