The carrier was only hit by shrapnel pieces from the exploding missile. The defenses on the ship took them out before they hit the ship. I talked to my relative on the ship. He said nothing was damaged and nobody got hurt.

It is also a treaty obligation. The Geneva Convention says that all nations must not conduct or aid in a g-cide, but there is also another condition. All nations must also try in their power to STOP a g-cide and that's exactly what Ansar Allah in Yemen is doing: trying to stop a g-cide. This is also why the west refuses to admit that what is happening in Gaza is a g-cide because that will force a legal obligation on them to stop it, when they are also the accomplices.

Naval power was edged out of dominance by the aeroplane and airborne missiles, drones etc. It's 20th century thinking to assume sea power is significant. These battle groups and carrier groups aren't as significant as the top brass think. They're mobility factors, not force projection when your opponent has the latest weapons.
