A tragedy. By the way, Russell Bentley was not a US national. He was a US citizen. Only some people born on Swains Island or American Samoa and a small number of other Pacific Islands are US "nationals." There is a huge difference in US and international law between a "national" and a "citizen." US nationals, for example, can't vote is presidential elections but don't require a visa to enter the US either. There are very few US "nationals" still alive, all elderly Pacific Islanders.
