"The Russians offered a mix of superb synchronization..." Um, no they didn't, well not this group at least, also their technique with the clubs was a bit... lacking, but I guess it's because one of their main gymnast was injured and they used a back-up. The Bulgarians had better synchronization, but they made a lot of errors, including dropping the operators (they also dropped a club in the second routine) and their difficulty was lower, to be honest I don't think Bulgaria had any chance of winning gold, even if they had executed their routines flawlessly. Now, Russia's actulal team (over 18) they have what you called "superb synchronization".
