This final was one of the most fiercest. The "Big 4" in gymnastics (aka superpowers) got to compete and show the world who the best are . Edit: When Miller said that she hopes that Vika goes home hungry for the next Olympic games, it hit me hard. Miller knows what it's like to be hungry and being a fighter. That's why she won gold on beam in 96.
@ZZ-lk8gn5 жыл бұрын
Why are Sui Lu's tears necessarily interpreted as a sign of disappointment? You know, sometimes when you finally complete something very hard, you cry not just the moment you finish them. You just need some time to digest, and suddenly a sense of relief makes you cry. As a college student, I once cried before I went to bed, on the day when I finished my sixth final exam. It seems to me that Lu cried because all those years of trainings were so tough, and she finally finished her Olympics. Not "bad sportsmanship".
@gccstan313 жыл бұрын
Nope, she was definitely disappointed. But I wouldn't call that bad sportsmanship, considering the context. Sui Lu was arguably the best beam worker of that quad, her routines were really admired and rightfully so. You could tell she was really proud of the pure level of skill she achieved on that apparatus. Now Deng already won a gold medal at the prior Olympics and it was non other than Deng that got chosen over Sui for the Olympic team in 2008. She probably was giga frustrated (also I personally think that Deng was a tiny bit overscored)

I cried when the commentator said about komova "my hope is that she gets away from this competition hungry for the next olympics " knowing she won't be competing at Rio, so disappointing for such a talented gymnast to go out like that, no olympic gold medal... She's always had the potential, yet some injuries and misfortune always got in her way.. She'll forever be my favourite gymnast

+Renn Li Sometimes it's not just about score. There are many Chinese gymnasts coming from very poor family and they want to get the prize. The first place's reward can get the gymnast buy a whole house for her family and let her family live well for at least 5 years. If I were Sui Lu, I would really want to kill myself as it's not that I didn't perform well enough, it's all because of the 0.1 difficulty and one more tumbling and the score can be higher than Deng Lin Lin's.

Andrew Hooker if she was 16 in 2012 then why isn't she competing again in the Río Olympics? Using ur logic then she would only be 20 in 2016 which still makes her eligible to compete in the Río Olympics so....where is she? Yeah, retired because she's 25 now.
