The 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia - FIFA - will be the 21st edition of the Football World Cup.
This edition of the event will be held in Russia between June 14 and July 15, 2018, being the first opportunity in that country to organize the championship and the first time in history to be held in an Eastern European country.
Russia confirmed 12 stadiums in 11 cities: Yekaterinburg, Kaliningrad, Kazan, Krasnodar, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov-on-Don, St. Petersburg, Samara, Sochi, Volgograd and Saransk, which will host the 64 World Cup matches.
Saransk, with about 300,000 inhabitants, is the smallest city in the venues of the 2018 World Cup, so it will not surprise the special enthusiasm that the event raises there. The Mordovia Arena, located a short distance from the historic center of the city, will continue to play a relevant role long after the tournament ends. It is expected to become a multipurpose center and an important part of city life.
Mordovia Arena (Russian: Мордовия Арена), is a football stadium currently under construction located in the city of Saransk, Republic of Mordovia, Russia, will host the football club Mordovia Saransk.
After the Candidacy of Russia to the 2018 World Cup, the Stadium has been chosen to play some of the different matches of the World Cup. During its celebration it has been planned that with the construction of prefabricated structures that will be used as stands the capacity of the stadium will remain in a total of 45,100 spectators, but only during the celebration of FIFA matches.
