As a simple boy from Tennessee, U.S. my momma always cooked Russia food made from potatoes... I cannot speak russian language... but I understand the Power of those words. God bless you for translating them for the Western world to understand the power that it gives to the Slavic population. Without you the wole world would be speaking German. My grandfather died on a beach in Normady. I cry every time I hear the Russian National Anthem.

My great grandfather fought in Normandy, helping the allied forces. However on my Finnish side, my distant relatives were fighting off both the Russians and Nazis. These are not Soviet lyrics. The song is the same as the Soviet anthem but these lyrics are derived from the current Russian Federations lyrics which were written in 2000. The Soviet Anthems lyrics are all about the Party and Lennin, not about the Russian land and people.

This is pretty great. I remember liking to watch the Olympics on TV because they would play all the national anthems of countries when they would give a gold medal (they don't show it anymore!) and i always thought the Russian anthem sounded really majestic and great. Canadian one is pretty simple, and we sing it in English and French (totally différent lyrics lol). I learned the American anthem (which is quite complicated) by watching hockey. Also one time i attempted to translate a Japanese song in English and sing it... It has parts in English i then translated to Japanese too lol. Hope i didnt butcher it. It was Endless Rain by X Japan.
