This isn't actually a case of former enemy countries reconciling, becoming friends and playing each others national anthems but this is a case of one's leader visiting the others country on either a meeting or something and that country playing the enemy's national anthem as a way of showing that even though they hate each other, they still have a mutual respect and admiration for each other

This is true but I would argue having Thames displays also serves as a symbol of diplomacy and a willingness to negotiate and potentially alleviate tensions. It’s a sign of hope and a message that peace can prevail. It’s shows a willingness to cooperate and diplomatic health or at least attempts to project that image

Each emperor/king of China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, etc had at least one of this era name during their reign, called 年号, which also how people in those countries used to use to identify years.

Fun fact. 4:22 The Soviet Band was probably quite experienced in playing the French Anthem. It was one of the key ''Revolutionary Songs'' that were taught at most musical schools in Russia at that time. In fact, Marseillaise was also the Anthem of Soviet Russia in the first months after the October Revolution. It was replaced in 1918 by the Internationale and in 1944 by the modern Soviet Anthem we all know and love (some people hate it, but this is temporary, lol)

I love how the Chinese play the absolute pitch perfect version of the Soviet National Anthem to the Russian Delegation- it’s so beautiful, perfect, and yet salty. It’s the perfect National Hymn, and while they brought it back - they never “rehabilitated” it to its former glory with those background trumpets and horns on the offbeats

Tp be fair after WW2 the soviets tried becoming friends with the Americans but by the time they had put nuclear weapons in Türkiye so they had no choice but to threaten with puting some in Cuba iventho they never did it was scary how agresive the Americans wore

The Germans also learn others and even if they don't, they practise it a few times before the state reception. A good music company/honourary company should be able to play another national anthem quite quickly. The France of the General de gaulle has never been an enemy of USSR. She may have been opposed on certain things, but France had withdrawn from NATO integrated command structure in 1966 to become more independent from USA/UK dominance. It was making France a neutral side with preference for western countries.
