I have friends there and they're good people. Don't mix up citizens with politic. They want the same thing as everyone else, to just lives their life and peace, close to nature, in their country with their own culture customs and families. Just like everyone else. It's safe if you have good tires, which often they don't. I do it very often, but it depends on well I can see and if there's black ice. Black ice is the worst. If you're gentle with the steering and break, you won't have issues.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess that the people walking probably have to because they have lost their license. Unfortunately it seems they don't have any more sense on their feet than they do in a car. Never in my life have I seen so many people just brazenly and blindly walk into traffic, that last guy in particular was something else. Honestly surprised the Russian life expectancy is as high as it is,

Hahaha, but if you look closely, the absolute majority of cars are not Russian, they are foreign. As a legacy of the communists, the science and technology of the former USSR did not pass to the civil industry, but only remained in the military and cosmonautics industries, which is the same as the military, because it is in the hands of the state and the Russian government. Therefore, the Russian civilian industry has not been able to produce a single car competitive with foreign ones.
@Tata78-80
@Tata78-80 Жыл бұрын
@@ivanr.76, You shouldn't say that. In Russia, the share of domestic cars is more than 33%. In your country, the percentage of cars produced is not much different from the Russian production. Google it on the Internet, for example, on the website "AUTOSTAT"

@@Toxa_BrI used to have a winter car too when I was younger. I live in Canada, North of the Québec province, and from what I've seen when I lived in Russia from 2001 to 2005, in a town called Revda, Sverdlovst oblast, it's near Ekaterinburg, and I've seen there was more in common with Canada, especially if you live in the North of the country, than with anywhere in the US. Even Alaska, (and yes, I lived there too at some point in the lates 90s) are very similar minded. Last year, Texas got -10C and 10cm of snow and it was a catastroph. I've seen the video of people driving in a little amount of snow and it was funny to me. People who live there have no clue what it's like to drive when it's -25C / -30C outside with a lot of snow and wind. Even if there's no snow on the road, there's a thin layer of ice at these low temperature, we call it "black ice" because it's invisible, and no matter how well they remove the snow, and the amount of salt, at -25C, salt don't do anything. But I didn't have to tell you this as you live there. I said it for those who judge without knowing. Also, these videos are the worse drivers, so obviously they will do stupid things.

Because many don't have good tires for the winter, I've seen Texas people driving in -3C with 5cm of snow and it was a catastrophic disaster. Keep in mind that road at -25C, are with black ice, not asphalt and there's often à lot more snow than anywhere in the US, even Alaska isn't that cold and snowy. And I've lived in both places. The only place that is like this in North America is I believe Nunavut, north of the Québec province where I live. This is a sélection of the worst drivers. They don't show you the aces who drive in Ural mountains without accidents for years, or the St-Petersburg/ Ekaterinburg taxis who drive in trafic like surgeon. They shows the worst drivers only. That's the point of the video. I've many friends there and none of them were in a huge trafic accident.
