Its worth noting she's a rabid Putin supporter and member of the oppressively conservative russian orthadox church, which is just a political tool of Putin's. Not saying she doesn't seem lovely - Just that, if she does support hateful authoritarian imperialists like putin. Then imo she isn't welcome here. Not welcome by me at least. I think Australia stands for equality, and democracy. It rejects people who support racist and expansionist militaristic autocracies. Again, i'm sure this lady means well but many of her videos veer into pro-state russian talking points. Just keep that in mind

Aussies are truly great people. I am from the States and have never been there, but I have engaged with many Aussies in sport and business here in the the US. I have had family visit Australia and their description is much like yours. In fact, I had a niece visit and it took some coaxing to get her back to finish her university degree. It is sad you are directly subjected to world events. Your travels are very informative whether I agree or disagree with government ideologies where you have visited. I also, believe people of your age will realize how to best use these technologies to enrich human value of the earth and the people who live on it. I wish you happy trails!

Thank you Eli for giving Sydney my home town such a wonderful review! Your comment saying you felt like you belong or you feel like it's home is probably the best things you can say about the place. One critical comment, personally I love Vegemite but I would never put that much Vegemite on a peace of toast! Your friend is either crazy or actually doesn't eat it himself. Bondi Beach is iconic and a must visit for everyone who visits especially if you have watched Bondi rescue but there are lots of beautiful beaches both north and south of the harbour that are well worth a visit. Thank you for visiting and giving us a positive review... cheers Eli. 👍🏻👍🏻

Such a beautiful place... jaw drops... lifts jaw from floor....wow. Tbe tablelands, what we call mesas in us southwest are completely covered in green. Love that. And the towering eucalyptus and other trees are too cool. Its very admirable how they manage and respect their country and its resources. Smart. Such a paradise worth preserving You do belong there, you belong everywhere , with plenty of sunscreen of course, haha. And you are welcomed everywhere because you have a sweet beautiful and curioua soul. My only complaint... the video is too short!⚘ ...apparently my appreciation for you is endless.

I wish I had known you were here. You needed to head further afield of Sydney. While it is a great city, there is so much to offer outside of Sydney. From west out to Bourke (& beyond) down south where you can drive from the beach to the snowfields in a few hours (in winter anyway) & up north where there are truly some beautiful beaches. And that is just the "tip of the iceberg," so to speak. Still, great to see you here, enjoying the hospitality & scenery that you did get the chance to see. Hopefully, it won't be the last time you are here.

Eli, Now that you have been here you have a baseline for comparisons, even if it is prudent to keep them to yourself. When the itchy feet stop itching or even when they become less demanding you know where to come. You saw so much in a short time and while finding some great places, there are more. But some need to be savoured more slowly than gathering video content permits. Many of us have settled here from elsewhere and some have travelled abroad, albeit less comprehensively than you have, so we understand our (undeserved) good fortune and are happy to share it with others. Good weather (most of the time) deserves much of the credit.

Hi Eli Glad you enjoyed my home town. At times I've lived both at Bronte, 2 beaches south of Bondi and in Newtown. I'm pleased you felt at home down there. Did you get to walk through the Queen Victoria Building or take the ferry down the harbour to Manly Beach (even nicer than Bondi IMHO)? Glad you got to see the Botanic Gardens, the Opera House and even took in the view from one of the harbour bridge pylons. Did you know Sydney has a beautiful stone railway station built expressly for the dead? Although funeral trains ceased operating many decades ago, the church-like Mortuary station remains. The Sydney suburbs enjoy a great deal of bush and as a young kid living on the north shore, I could walk down my street, follow the creek through a golf course and into the bush to what I considered to be my very own private waterfall. It was a great place to recover from another unpleasant school day, to play and gather one's thoughts. We never worried about snakes and spiders. For the most part if you stayed away from them they would stay away from you, although a mate was bitten by a funnel web spider in 1980 and his heat stopped around 2 hours later - fortunately in hospital where he was saved. They have antidotes for most of these venoms now and I don't think anyone has died from a spider bite in decades. It's even rare to hear of people being taken by sharks these days. I was waiting for you to mention how expensive it is to live in Sydney. This is a large factor in people moving away from it and why on some metrics Melbourne may end this year overtaking Sydney's population. My parents bought a lovely home right on the harbour in the seventies. Up the street from it a house with more harbour front land than it did sold for $27m. Sadly, I could never afford to live where my parents once did. Years ago when visiting after some time in Los Angeles, I compared LA and Sydney road maps, and Sydney occupied a larger area than Los Angeles and Orange Counties combined - it's a vast sprawl, home to not quite 6 million people. The obscene cost of real estate there has pushed people out of the near city suburbs to ones further away to the west and south. That in turn has aggravated long existing problems with traffic and the railways which had not advanced in many decades to follow new population centres. For many people the cost of living, the long commutes, the expensive tollways and the packed trains have all finally proven too much and they've moved away. I have one sister who long ago moved to Perth in Western Australia, with another who will also move there soon. We have good friends, one couple who moved south inland and another moved south to another beach. Sydney is a wonderful place to visit and a great place to live you're very rich. Decades ago, as a kid I lived with summers often in the high 30C, low 40C range, but now Sydney is facing real climate change challenges. When I was last down there in the spring of 2019, the bush fires were so bad that when I took the train across the harbour bridge to Milson's Point, the first station at its northern end, I looked back toward the city and could barely see it due to all the smoke. At one point when we visited my family, we had to take our passports and all our money with us for the 50 minute suburban drive because there was a real risk the home in which we were staying might burn down before we returned. Some months later the rains came and brought serious flooding. Nevertheless Sydney is reaching out to its west with new metro lines intended to seed new population centres and a new airport under construction at Badgery's Creek. I remember a certain 'happy go lucky' optimism there that despite living cost and climate challenges, everything will work out okay in the end. Still, I miss Sydney, or at least parts of it, especially the bush. I always enjoy going back, visiting my old haunts and few remaining friends. I left for Canada almost 40 years ago but I still visit her in my dreams. Thanks again Eli for another first class documentary. The production values of your videos only get even better as new ones upload. With such a substantial body of great work as your resume, you may one day be producing first class shows for major clients like National Geographic, PBS or the BBC. Putting yourself front and centre is really smart, personalizing your work and making you a familiar face. You must really love your work and it shows. Take care

thanks for that interesting info, although it felt a bit cheated when in your last paragraph you say you left Australia 40 years ago. Still it's very interesting to get your historic presentation. I have never been to Australia. You might not get a reply from Eli, but i agree she is doing well for herself. I can never figure out how much these youtuber make but based on the average Russian salary (Which is very low even for the highly educated) and estimating tools she probably earns 10x-15x what a Russian earns and her "salary" is increasing constantly. How not to be happy while she is doing a world travelling reporter's job. I think she deserve credit for her personality and she actually studied journalism. I am certain she will become world famous and rich.
